| At what age would you feel comfortable with putting a kid to sleep in a hotel room and then going downstairs in the same building to get a drink or hang out in a lounge? Assume kid has a phone and knows how to call the adults in an emergency…. |
| Are you out of your f-ing mind? |
| 12? |
| Do you know how many people in a hotel have keys to that room (and yes, can access it even with a deadbolt on)? |
| Look up Madeline McCann. Then ask yourself again if this is a good idea. |
| This is a ridiculous and irresponsible. What the hell are you thinking as a parent? |
That’s the first thing that came to mind. |
Calm down. Nobody said that they were considering this with a toddler. 12 seems perfectly fine to me if the kid is responsible and knows how to put the deadbolt on the door, has a phone, can call you or the front desk, etc. |
Don’t tell me to calm down. This is not at their home, this is at a hotel with people who have access to rooms you irresponsible prick. |
DP here. So what is your answer? Surely there is an acceptable age. What is it? I left my 16-year-old in the hotel room alone this past weekend. Was I wrong? |
| 13 |
| 12 or 13, especially if there are siblings close in age with them. |
I agree I would do this at home, definitely not at a hotel. The drink can wait or be brought to room. |
^^Drama queen |
All of this to “get a drink or hang out in a lounge.” Are you 21?
