| I’m a mom of 2 and I’m having the hardest time returning back to my pre pregnancy weight. I have a small frame and used to weigh under 110 but now I’m much more than that and it feels awful. I’ve googled but what is a good weight for my height from dcubanmom standards? 115-125? I need to set a goal! Thanks and any advice on how to kick off weight loss would be helpful. I keep trying to eat healthier but then as the day drags on I cave in and snack on unhealthy things. |
| Oh gawd, you’re asking to be judged by DCUM standards. That’s messed up. |
| I’m 5’4, and I am happy at 132-133, but even when I’m 136-137, I’m still a size 4. |
| Whatever weight feels good. I'm 5'4 too. 2 kids, 42 years old. My normal had always been 115. I lost weight due to stress the last few years and my upper body looked too skinny (I'm a pear shape) but my legs looked great. Now with age, I am suddenly gaining more weight than I ever did (I use dot be able to eat anything). I'm past 120 and don't really like the extra weight I carry on my legs and butt. So my ideal would be 115-120 but fit. |
| Intuitive eating, girlfriend. Try it! |
| This totally depends on your build and how much muscle you have. |
Agree. I am 5'4 and 135lbs but a size 4 and tight. I started cross-fit to lose weight and get into shape. Now I have more muscle then I used to. So I lost a dress size, pants fit way better, etc, but I weigh the same. |
| I subscribe to the 5’ is 100lbs then add 5lbs per inch rule. So 5’4” ideal weight is 120. But that rule is my personal maximum. I’m 5’2.5” and weigh 107, so if I gained anything past 112 is when I’d get serious about watching my weight. |

Muscle is heavier than fat.
Instead of fixating on weight, why not focus on how your clothes fit? Aim to drop down a size or two. |
| It really, REALLY depends on your level of fitness, muscle, and build, OP. I am 5’4 and weighed 110-115 through college because I was totally skinny fat. As a grown a$$ woman, I feel much better at a higher weight with more muscle tone. My body’s personal happy place is 124-128, but this is very personal. *In general* I’d say for 5’4 if you’re fit, you probably want to be in the 120-140 range. |
| I’m 5’4” and weigh 135 but I’m in shape. I exercise and lift weights. |
Np I would encourage you to ask a medical professional about your weight. I think 110 is pretty thin for a 5'4'' woman. I think if you weighed 125-130 you probably would be fine but, work with your doctor. If you snack too much don't buy the stuff you can't resist. |
| My body is totally different after having kids. I’m also stronger than I’ve ever been since doing weight training. I’m 5’4 and fluctuate between 120 and 124. I do have a small frame though and pear shaped. |

I'm finding the replies to this very refreshing. I am 5'4" and fairly dense. I think I look my best at 130-135, but wear the same clothes size up to 145. I look gaunt/bad at anything less than 120.

I understand how you feel and being small frame also, I find that it's super easy to gain weight and what might seem a relatively small amount (five pounds or so) to other people makes me feel "fat" and my clothes don't fit. But please don't feel awful that your weight is higher than in the past. You are older and have had two children, so your comfortable weight might need to be a bit higher than it was in the past. As for advice, if you are caving in and snacking later in the day, this can happen because you are legitimately hungry if you are not eating enough filling, nutrient rich foods earlier in the day. Try to focus on whole, unprocessed foods. |
