Does a small envelope mean a rejection?

Anonymous
Saw our USPS informed delivery with a small envelope from a school and wondering if this always means a rejection? I know, I know just wait until it arrives/4pm but I want to prepare myself for bad news.

What school?

I don't know of any schools that send mailed rejections at all. Just Ravenna.

Ha! Looks like we have a small envelope arriving today too. Good luck, OP! Hoping for the best.

Same, I saw something coming via USPS but I only know town of origin; no scanned image. Does anyone know what schools send snail mail acceptances?

most do not send rejection letters.
I can tell you what we received last year if it's the same schools.

I also see something coming by USPS; shipping label created in Potomac, MD so I’m assuming it’s from SAES. I’m thinking it’s swag.

Mine was from Potomac MD as well.

Got a rejection letter from a conservative Christian school in NoVa. It was very tersely phrased with some mean, passive aggressive language directed at our DC. They went out of their way to flip us the bird. It was unnecessary.

We applied because we know several families that send their children there, and they all had nice things to say about the school. Our family was kind, open, and receptive throughout the entire application process. We could tell during the parent interview that it was not a good match. The HOS was just short of openly hostile. It was a bit baffling.

I post this as a reminder to those pressing refresh on A web browser today to keep in mind that not everyone has the same options, financially or socially, for their children’s education. It may seem unfair to simply get a note on a website that your DC did not get accepted, but some of us don’t even get that level of courtesy.

Some of us are stuck with the “take it or leave it” public schools or applying to smaller institutions that yield what little power their position grants them with outright cruelty.

Was this was an envelope or a package?

Small envelopes generally are rejections. My daughter applied to 5 schools and got accepted to all five. All were large envelopes.

On our informed delivery email, at the bottom where it lists packages, it has one tracking number listed and says it's out for delivery. When I log into my USPS account, I can see that the package originated yesterday from Potomac, MD with the same zipcode as SAES. That's the only school we applied to in Potomac, so I assume it's from there. There is no picture for the package.

I’m so sorry, pp. do something nice for yourself today and enjoy being with you family outside this weekend.
That’s very unkind and unnecessary of that school. Maybe you dodged a bullet?
