They were just scouting. They took some pics of your homes, some video. Made note of typical traffic patterns, stoplight timing, did several 5-minute surveys to note number of police vehicles that passed by to get an average number to approximate the patrol patterns. Looked for any evidence of larger dogs at specific homes, alarm systems, cameras, etc.  Located the electrical transformers and cable/fiber junction boxes on the block. One of the team had probably slipped out earlier and had recon’d the alleys and backyards for motion detector lights and such.

Standard fieldcraft stuff. Likely just a training-op to stay sharp. Or maybe real intel gathering, only they themselves would know for certain.
