Now that CDC is not recommending masks in schools, will private schools lift their mandates?

Some say they will only follow CDC. This afternoon it looks like all in this area will be good to drop the masks according to the new guidance.

But for DC, doesn’t the Mayor get to decide? Will the Mayor follow CDC?

You've conveniently glossed over an important part of the new policy in your glee to post the link:

Under the new metrics in the updated guidance, more than half of U.S. counties, which make up 70% of where Americans live, will be in areas of low or medium risk and no longer recommended to wear masks, said two sources briefed on the plans but not authorized to discuss them ahead of the official announcement.

DC is currently hovering between "substantial" and "moderate" community spread. This is what will determine whether or not masks will be required in schools in DC.

She did not follow the 5-day isolation recommendation (DC requires 7 days). I think it was a wise decision.

The metrics are going to be revamped completely. DC will very likely be in that 70%. I would be money in it.

No, you have glossed over the fact that the new metrics will not just be based on cases...how else will 70% of America now be low or medium risk...

I know it’s Friday but still it’s a mite early to be drinking, dear.

What about BA1? I think we have to keep testing frequently and be flexible with these policies - sure take off when rates are low, but be ready to reinstate

I’m surprised OPs of these threads started another of the same this afternoon. I thought they were looking forward to joining the terribly successful truckers protests, or, as per usual, had some babies or disabled people to kick down as the weekend starts?

But not too early to lash out at babies, toddler and immunocompromised people, eh, Real Housewife?

Not case rates, hospitalization rates.

Also, look at this stat.
From Jan. 18-Feb. 14, more than 5,000 DC residents were hospitalized with covid.
-4,970 were unvaccinated or had one shot of an mRNA vaccine
-126 had one shot of J&J or 2 shots of Moderna/Pfizer
-7 were boosted

NP. Please not assume people that want to get rid of masks that aren’t scientifically proving to be needed are RWNJs. It’s thinking like that that will caring upon a red wave. Some of us Dems have logic and aren’t led by hysteria.

More people are dying daily of Omicron then have if Delta. Wearing a mask indoors is not hard.

Oh, that’s just the person who posts insane shit all over any thread about masks. Don’t mind them.
