Youngkin steps in it again

Anonymous
After state senator Mamie Locke finished giving a floor speech about Black History Month, Youngkin texted Louise Lucas to congratulate her on her speech. Apparently he had trouble distinguishing between these two women, who basically look nothing alike other than both being Black women:

In his apology, he basically admitted that he barely paid attention to the speech.

So?

Louise Lucas sounds like a real ahole. Between trolling Youngkin from the start on Twitter, and deciding to make this mistake public, it's clear she is not a nice person.

Youngkin apologized to her, yet she still felt the need to go public. Just like the OP, who felt the need to start a stupid thread on this nonsense. Grow up.

Oh but hey. Who had ever heard of Louise Lucas before this episode, except perhaps her mother?

That woman has already started 2 scandals about Youngkin in this first month in office. This is the third. She hates him.

Eh, it was an honest mistake. And the names are similar. It happens.

He apologized privately and publicly.

This comment from below the article nailed it:

He mixed up two people, same as many people do every single day, whether it’s two white people, black people, men, women, etc.

"The OP is correct that it’s only a story because the two people are black.

And because politicians and biased msm outlets will take any opportunity to try to nail a member of the other party— the left’s weapon of choice being accusation of racism.

The fact that someone needs to publicly apologize for mixing two people up is so stupid and 2022."

Yeah, doesn’t everyone know all Black people look the same?

Gosh, I don't think I've ever had to apologize for mixing up two white women before - and that happens to me all the time. So curious that this is even something to get offended about. Oh, wait...

She was planning to keep it private until Youngkin decided to berate Democrats for not confirming Wheeler. Apparently they exist for the sole purpose of rubber stamping whatever Youngkin wants, and really need to know their place.

DP. Ah, so she's retaliating against him for something totally unrelated. She sure is a winner.

Keeping it private was a courtesy to Youngkin. It would have been nice if Youngkin could have shown basic courtesy back. But apparently you don’t hold white wen to the same standard of decorum as you do black women. Figures.

This Youngkin administration has had so many screw ups in such a short time. Total incompetents.

If he’d bothered to actually watch the speech, it probably wouldn’t have happened. Youngkin just heard that a Black woman gave a speech and assumed it was Lucas because he forgets there are other Black women in the senate.

That was a mediocre apology. Don't start with excuses.
