I don't think she was intentionally trying to ram someone, but she could have easily hit the officer who was in front of her car.

She did hit him. He had to go to the hospital after.

She was trying to escape and didn't care if anybody got run over. Use of deadly force is legally justified if the LEO feels he/she is in an imminent threat of substantial bodily injury or death.

Not if the LEO intentionally puts themselves in danger in direct defiance of their training and department policy, which is what this ICE ‘officer’ did by standing in front of a running, moving vehicle. He created the danger, the use of force r isn’t justified and certainly not the two head shots point blank through the driver side window as the vehicle moves past him and he is in NO DANGER.

This ICE ‘officer’ committed murder in broad daylight on video and we can all see that - those of us who are rational and know the law, like other law enforcement officers and former and current prosecutors like me.

Because the murderer is a federal agent, should the state of Minnesota bring criminal charges the US Attorney has the power to invoke the supremacy clause, remove any state prosecution to federal court and summarily dismiss the charges. Or any federal prosecution that successfully achieved conviction could be immediately pardoned by the current WH resident.

I would suggest given that there is no statute of limitations on murder that Minnesota take it’s time on the investigation and file charges on January 21, 2029.

Yes, the ice agent had already put his hand on the gun trying to block the vehicle when it was in reverse. He had zero intention to let this poor woman drive away. Either they dragged her out of the car or kill.

She was playing games blocking traffic prior to this event.

The only thing they could have done better is use vehicles to box her in and drag the itch out.

Hopefully they will make it a priority to arrest and prosecute anyone who does what she did that day going forward.

These are federal law enforcement officers with arrest powers. Most of these protestors don’t realize this so they act like spoiled brats.

This was not done

They are untrained gun happy fools

The clearly untrained ICE officer murdered her. Video doesn't lie. Trump and Noem do.

The video does not show "murder" It shows a woman who blocked police officers in her car (an extremely brazen act), driving off to avoid arrest, and a panicked police officer who overreacted in a split second decision

Murder.

Unlawful homicide. Not murder.

Are you really that dense???

Murder IS unlawful homicide, moron. Go pick up a book of statutes from wherever you live and that is exactly the language you will see. This is nothing close to rocket science.

I saw a video, she started driving forward with an officer in front of her.

Watch this forensic analysis and you will see clearly what happened. There is no disputing this was cold-blooded murder. I mean, I guess you can go ahead and close your eyes or claim it’s “fake news”

Better version. There’s no disputing what happened.

The officer seemed to move out of the way, but reached over awkwardly to shoot her.

I'd ordinarily grant police officers a very broad interpretation of the benefit of the doubt. But that's because the nature of their jobs forces them into dangerous and difficult situations.

But these ice officers weren't forced into this situation.

The officer that reached over, was not the one who shot her. watch the video. the officer who shot her had been filming coming up from passenger side of the car to the front. He then murdered her.

Yes. He did. And then left the scene of the crime. The behavior of the entire ICE contingent after she was killed is also very disturbing. No one rendered aid. Saying I don’t care when the bystander doctor tried to help. It’s appalling.

Even if she was blocking traffic (she wasn't impeding it, cars were going by, but she was certainly in the road), it is still murder to shoot her. Did she deserve to be arrested? You could make a case for that. But shooting her is murder.

We are in full blown fascism and our costs haven’t even gone down. How is any of this improving the lives Americans?

This guy has probably already fled the state, but Minnesota needs to charge him. Yes, DoJ will get it moved to federal court, but make them justify the actions.

The driver struck the agent first and then the agent shoots. Pure self defense folks.

No need for justification. Look up "Supremacy Clause" in the U.S. Constitution.

Did you make a similar assessment regarding the Tiananmen Square massacre?

You are under the mistaken impression that there are no laws that govern the behavior of federal law enforcement officers. You are wrong.

There are statutes and case law that clearly delineate what federal LEO are permitted to do. This was a case study in what not to do. Every single decision they made was wrong.

Ask yourself if you’re comfortable with the consequences of a trigger happy guy in a mask who “panics” this easily. I’m not.

This was absolutely inevitable. These people are armed, poorly trained, jacked up amateurs. This guy went from 0 to 10 in 2 seconds. Put them in high stakes situations and this is the outcome. We’ll see this again. It’s a mess.

Anyone justifying this is a fool and, well, just not a good person.

Protesting is allowed. You don't get shot for protesting in America.

This was not a "riot" or "terrorism." The many cameras show this and lying about it is straight out Orwellian. This was FAR LESS of a riot that was present on Jan. 6 and which MAGA just ignores like it never happened.

She didn't "obey orders?" GMAFB. How many of you would get out with a bunch of masked thugs with guns? And even if I agreed she should have done so -and I don't- you don't get shot in America for not getting out of a car.

NONE of the officers were in danger. NONE. The video is clear. The one to the side was past her and the other one moved to the front of the car. She was clearly turning away. This was not her driving into a crowd.
That gun should not have been even out. It was pointed at her face for a good few seconds before shooting at her as she was turning. More than one shot.

None of this is acceptable. If you want to live in a Wild West of shoot first and ask questions later, I can suggest a few countries where this is acceptable to you. But it isn't here. Our LEOs need to be professional and held to higher standards than that.

THat woman was murdered. And you are vile if you don't see that.

They why do we as citizens even need the Constitution if it is not for our benefit?

And you Trumpers love to quote the Constitution about things you can use as a weapon while fundamentally ignoring the safe guards for citizens built into the Constitution

So STFU

That only applies if he was acting within his scope of his lawful duties. And yes, they will presumably say he was. Make them say it to highlight the danger communities face from ICE agents. That is, that this wasn't a horrible mistake, but the policy of the Trump's federal government.

What about the one that had to jump out of the way of her vehicle? If he is a half second slower, he is dead
