Montgomery County Council -- at large?

I don't know anything about most of these folks.

Evan Glass and Gabe Albornoz -- incumbents, so I know them. Jawando hasn't filed yet but I assume he will run.

Any thoughts on Brandy Brooks, Christy Tichy, Scott Goldberg, Kim Kellerman, Laurie-Anne Sayles?

Why are seemingly all the county at-large candidates from either downtown Silver Spring or TP? They all live within 3 miles of each other. Montgomery is a big county. Shouldn’t some of the at-large candidates be from places elsewhere?

They should. But the SS/TP area is EXTREMELY politically active. And that's who the politicians listen to. They support and promote their own.

And unfortunately people upcounty don't seem to vote in the same numbers.

If you're looking to vote for people outside that area, Laurie-Ann Sayles is from Gaithersburg and Kellerman is from Poolesville, although I can't find much about her beyond that. Brandy Brooks is from Wheaton so kind of technically Silver Spring but not downtown.

Beg to differ. No plans to build a fire department or police station. The fire department is fine right where it is (in Beallsville) and the police would get basically a break room and bathroom.

Did they really? That is frustrating, I agree.

The County won't put a police station next/in a high school -- they are allowing students to call the shots on this one -- and schools off limits for police presence unless there is a real emergency.

Is this supposed to be some type of gotcha? The police station being smaller than normal police stations is actually more evidence of how desperate they are.

Where is Friedson? Isn’t he supposed to represent these people or is he too busy trying to impress the TPSS crowd? This is what happens when inexperienced kids get elected.

The building will also include a co-located community center and a health center.

It’s pretty sad that the county has neglected this community so badly to the extent that they have documented that they live in a “services desert”.

Goldberg runs his own rental management business and has to deal with all the issues that come with being a services-oriented small business owner. Not sure about the others.

Goldberg runs his own rental management business and has to deal with all the issues that come with being a services-oriented small business owner. Not sure about the others.

+1 He started his own business and arranged for immediate housing for both Afghan refugees and residents affected by the deadly floods on Twinbrook Parkway last summer. He’s a very good guy.
