s/o from the what to serve for lunch post...
How do you make chicken salad for sandwiches? |
| We use the Potbelly's chicken salad recipe. Tastes best if you make it a little bit early so it can sit a bit in the fridge. |
|
Rotisserie chicken
Mango chutney Curry powder Mayo/sour cream mixture Some salt |
I would do this and add some pecans or walnuts. |
| I don’t, because it’s disgusting and I’m not from the Midwest. |
|
Rotisserie chicken
Plain yogurt- or yogurt based dressing with lemon/Basil Onion Celery Salt Pepper Celery seed here’s the kicker and what makes Costco’s amazing- half and half to your taste. I use just a bit to loose up. Makes a difference. Can add cut grapes, walnuts or pecans, dried cranberries, diced apples… whatever you want really |
Yeah, I used to say things like this but then I realized how much of a provincial dipshit it made me sound like to be like “Ew, yucky!” like a toddler. |
Do you really think statements like this make you sound more worldly or intelligent than those you denigrate?
|
+1, rotisserie chicken makes it so easy! |
Where are you from that chicken salad isn’t allowed? I assure you it’s not just people in the Midwest who eat it. |
I’m not from the Midwest and I grew up eating chicken salad. |
NYC area love chicken salad. |
It isn’t a Midwest thing. It is popular all over the US idiot. |
| I grew up in the South. I have always detested chicken salad. It is everything that is wrong with "American" food even if it is derived from French cuisine. Maybe somewhere in the world it is made in a tasty way, but not in the U.S. |

Rotisserie chicken, shredded and chopped (my mom used pressure cooker chicken)
Diced green onion, celery, parsley Quartered grapes (either/both colors) Mayo, sour cream Salt, pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, curry powder, paprika Serve with fresh sourdough I like it with fruit salad and deviled eggs and kettle chips in warmer months. Tomato soup when colder. Always pickles (cucumber, dill, carrot, jalapeño, etc…). |
