A billion dollar ballroom that might never actually get built. I deplore the grift. OTOH, the ballroom as planned seems awful, so I’m not entirely unhappy at the thought that it might not actually get built. |
It makes perfect sense when you consider that the East Wing housed office space for the First Lady and her staff. Bulldozing it is a highly visible symbol of purging women from the halls of power. Project 2025. |
| Think of how good it will feel to tear it down and go after the sycophants that donated the money. |
So weird he's totally inept at managing the costs of a construction project. I was told that he was a very successful developer.... |

WaPo reports that the ballroom isn't getting built.
https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/where-things-stand-with-the-white-house-ballroom/ar-AA1StAst Salon opinion argues that it can never be built, like most of what Trump promises. https://www.salon.com/2025/12/19/the-white-house-ballroom-will-never-be-built/ The only thing Trump as ever "created" was putting his name on someone else's project. Everything he runs fails to deliver anything except destruction. |
| It’s just a money laundering operation. That’s all he ever does. |
| and an enhanced bunker because he never studied history |
| Everyone knew he pocketing the money to build the ballroom. |
| So now we'll just have a hole in the White House forever? |
There’s also a five story deep hole where the old emergency bunker was destroyed. This administration is notorious for not vetting its hires. Who will be constructing the new bunker? The U.S. once built a new embassy in Russia that they couldn’t use. Local people were hired to build it and the walls were so embedded with listening devices the building was abandoned. Trump would let this happen again. In fact it might be his whole purpose in replacing the old bunker. That and skimming building funds for his own pocket. |
