New architect. I suspect he won't be the last as people try to push back on side and standards.

What fools these people are. So Baranes thinks he is in sync with Trump now, but he will fall into disfavor soon enough.

It happens to everyone charmed by a narcissist. The only shield is Mar-a-Lago Face.

I just looked this guy up on Open Secrets and he's a full-on Democrat. He's won a environmental award and says he's done historic preservation.

Why would he tank his career? Unless, he thinks the Historic Preservation Society will be able to curb the scale. Or, he'll hold off Trump for a few months (banking he dies) and then his firm is the one to create the historic wing (probably nix the ballroom) of the White House?

Anyone know this guy?

There isn't a "historic preservation society" that can curb what Trump wants. There is a Commission of Fine Arts and the National Captial Planning Commission, but he staff those with lackeys.

Will he get paid? Apparently, Donald is refusing to pay the last one.

Donald never pays his bills. This has been common knowledge for decades.

Breaking from the WP:

National Trust sues to stop White House ballroom construction

The lawsuit from the nonprofit National Trust for Historic Preservation, which was filed Friday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, represents the first major legal challenge to Trump’s planned 90,000-square-foot addition and is poised to test the limits of his power. The organization argues that the administration failed to undergo legally required reviews or receive congressional authorization for the project, which Trump has rushed to launch in hopes of completing it before his term ends in 2029. “No president is legally allowed to tear down portions of the White House without any review whatsoever — not President Trump, not President Joe Biden, and not anyone else,” the complaint says.

The National Trust is seeking a temporary restraining order on construction as the court reviews its claims, its lawyers said. One of those lawyers is Greg Craig, a Foley Hoag lawyer who previously served as White House counsel to President Barack Obama, and who is working pro bono on the case. Craig also served as President Bill Clinton’s lawyer during Republicans’ efforts to impeach Clinton in the late 1990s.

So meantime is there a gaping hole in the White House? Is it covered by a blue tarp that billows in the wind? I can’t imagine the heating bills. Leave it to Trump to make the place look like a trailer park.

You know all that "donated" ballroom money has pro been spent already.

Why did it take so long to get this suit filed? Hopefully this gets tied up in court for the foreseeable future, drives him crazy, and doesn’t end up happening. He doesn’t have much time left to get this done.

I still can’t believe that Trump bulldozed part of the White House for no damn reason.
