Kind of harsh to put it all on one person.

For the price we pay? Really? To be lied to??

What were you lied to about?

Hi Julian.

Where to start? Age group academy for all age groups U9-U14 led by the “academy head coach” and assisted by team coaches. Let’s use your age groups, 2006 and 2007 boys. Rarely, if ever, have we seen the age group train together with a similar practice plan that you spoke of in May. Instead, you have charged each family the same fee (yes, the highest fee for red players) stating that all players will have the same practice and oversight from the coaching staff. This has NOT happened.

Very few of the teams have been competitive in CCL. I didn’t mention winning, simply being competitive. Should this lie on 1 persons shoulders? YES. You are in charge of the travel program and are not making for an experience anyone wishes to continue with. Is this the blame of LB or JC?

And by the way, when is the last time a LMVSC boys team has lost in state cup in the 1st round? VYSA thanks you for the donation.

Boom, roasted.

There are lots of clubs in that area and plenty of former LMVSC players on those teams.

I speak from experience when I say SYC needs to give it a rest in trying to recruit the current LMVSC players (and those who have left for other clubs). My kids left and went to another club (with many LMVSC families). New club didn’t recruit us, but we’re happy to have us. As a customer we are pleased with the coaching, player pool, organization, and respect of parents on the sidelines of the new club.

Curious to hear how you decided on your new club and what pushed you to them over other local clubs? Glad to hear your new experience, sounds like have the important things for fun competitive environment.

Honestly, we observed player, coach, and parent behavior at the winter tournaments. Learned a lot during our kids games and from seeing things on adjacent fields during warm ups and half time. With Covid we were glad we started to really pay attention in the winter to other teams.

Why are there so many fewer rec games? I know this has primarily been about the travel side, but I feel as if there is a big drop off in rec soccer.

When people say it’s falling apart, they mean it.

The SFL is not sponsoring games this fall, so the individual clubs are having to coordinate inter club games or games with local clubs. The pool isn’t as large without the SFL (and Covid).

Not as large without SFL and due to COVID? It’s almost non-existent

My dc's rec league is playing with a few other clubs and they have the normal amount of games (they usually do SFL).

Don’t be surprised. LB and her crew are using rec teams on the travel program. Especially those playing NCSL.

Anonymous wrote:I actually expected them to shrink gracefully this season- why did they register teams they didn't have?

Because CCL required them to register. I heard that SYC took many of the coaches and basically made it so LMVSC couldn't function.

Having seen this weekend as a LMVSC parent, this is just not true. Yes, losing EM/PM and coaches hurt. But what did we do to make it better? Be lied to in 2019 town hall about rotating coaches. Make bad hires (two technical directors walked away from job before LC took it). Implement an academy structure to pretend that's what our players need. Want to know why we're losing so much? We're punching above our weight. Our high school age teams straight up forfeited against Beach FC, we weren't competitive in most games against Arlington and SYC, and probably same thing when we do played Alexandria. The best remaining players ARE going to leave to those three clubs. If we're still in CCL's top league next season, we're leaving. It's not a good playing experience, it's too expensive, and it's just upsetting.

real questions for you: do you think LMVSC will either improve their services, and, do you think LMVSC will vacate CCL?

Well, I think LMVSC can improve their services, but only because I am really unsatisfied so there should be nowhere to go but up. I don't think they will improve, though. LB has a history of making poor decisions, and after this season people will see the academy system wasn't what we needed so I'm sure she'll hire another new TD. As far as vacating CCL, I don't know. I'm sure the club is more than happy to have their teams have a bad playing experience, because at the end of the day, they can charge more if in CCL. If LMVSC was only in NCSL, then they would have to lower the rates (meaning lower the pay). Teams are already disappearing, I can't see many good options. The boys side and girls side for the older teams will basically disappear, if anything I think what happens is CCL doesn't allow them to return.

The problem is that LMVSC refuses to recognize reality. They are no longer a CCL-level club but they're in CCL.

NCSL + EDP for a clubs better team is a solution for smaller clubs. LMVSC just won't accept that they are a smaller club now

LMV was never a big club, rather a smaller club with great coaches. If they're no longer a ccl lvl club, moving to the EDP would only make things worse. Their red teams would have a difficult time competing in the lower championship divisions. Currently, ODSL and lower NCSL div would probably be a better fit.

They’re an NCSL level club now but won’t admit it. The results are showing it, the amount of red teams in NCSL are showing it, the amount of missing teams in many age groups show it.
