I'm so thrilled that you guys have found a great fit for your sons. So that others may share in your marvelous discovery, go create a "What's Great About GP" thread. Wouldn't want your news to get overshadowed in here. |

Great plan! And, put that info up in a separate post so others can better find it. |
Let's see. GP spends $60M or so on atheletic facilities. No doubt, they are wonderful facilities. So, GP has great athletic facilities. STA is spending $80M on expanding its academic wing. One this is DONE, STA hopes to raise money for its athletic fields. Priorities. Your choice! |
That is great that you likd Prep or whatever so much. I have no idea what school you are even talking about to be honest, but I am interested in STA for my child which is why I came to this thread so why don't you post about Prep on another thread and don't hijack the STA thread. Thank you. |
Insecurity. |
Ditto. Spot on. |
There are several types of posters. I know many students who had applied to Prep, Landon, STA, and Gonzaga. Smart not all great athletes. Some are. What seems to be happening on this thread is the "neighborhood" cool school for families with little kids versus the application to a school for the teenager. Prep guys do have camaraderie but so do guys at the other schools. There are boys at Prep with social insecurity which is different than being insecure about one's status or potential in the world. STA also has boys who are insecure socially. I like both schools. |
To all who are interested in keeping this thread on-topic: please ignore the thread-hijackers and please don't feel the trolls. |
Ah, yes. The repeated substantiation of the self-important attitude (likely with nothing to back it up). |
Does anyone know how many boys from Beauvoir got into or are going to STA in the fall. Also, how many girls from Beauvoir are going to or got into NCS? Thanks. |
Here's another admissions question for the STA folks. Recently there was a thread about how hard it is for twins to get accepted at privates. Are there many twins at STA (besids the Bayhs)? I have twins who would like to apply for 9th, but we are not famous or super rich and have no special connections to the school. Is STA open to twins, or are there just two few spots for them to give two places to one family? |
There are and have within recent years been a few sets of twins at St. Albans, without Senatorial connections. I think they look at it on the merits and they won't turn down two kids because they are in the same family. So it is worth applying, although 9th grade entry is competitive, no question. |
There are 4th grade twins right now, and there have been other sets as well. |
