As bad as the girls side is at TSJ, boys is even worse. Remember TSJ was a girls only club until just a couple years ago.

Boys club truly is bottom barrel now that the new affiliations have come out. TSJ South will get rejects from SYC and ASA, while TSJ North is going to struggle to survive with a boys program. They will be right there with PSC / LFC.

What is going on at the TSJ, I have seen many of their players trying out at same places as my DDs. Are girls testing the waters and then just going back to them? Just seems odd that many of their players are trying out elsewhere.

They experience some top and second team talent loss at U11. Girls go tryout at clubs that have a GA1 team or ECNL team pathway. A lot of girls won’t transfer from TSJ south to the TSJ north GA1 team as it’s too far and they really aren’t doing well.

I've been at several club practices and ID session/try outs in the last week for older age group girls teams for both GA and ECNL. This includes TSJ (GA), McLean (GA), Arlington (ECNL), and maybe soon with FVU/Brave (ECNL) this coming week.

My opinion is that McLean had the weakest quality at the tryouts, but I saw a bunch of players in attendance who haven't been able to break into local ECNL clubs and of course the disgruntled who are likely to leave FVU and follow McLean to GA. That said, unless McLean has a bunch of players who didn't come to tryouts, they have it worse than TSJ did after Revolution split off.

While TSJ and McLean are what they are, Arlington is way better than the others. Time will tell whether FVU/Brave will field a better team, but given that they are mostly splitting up players with McLean, I would imagine that they too will suffer a down grade in talent.

I do believe that players who previously traveled further this past year to get on a club out towards Loudoun, are looking to come back closer to home with some of the divisions going on between clubs closer to Fairfax and Arlington.

I agree McLean had mostly RL players trying out along with some Arlington RL players and few other players from outside. Having and RL quality team won’t cut it but n GA. Guaranteed. Even the FVU disgruntled are among the lower part of the FVU roster. Not much quality.

If you are considering STJ, be prepared for many things to suck, not just this.

If TSJ is advertising GA, then they are in GA for 25/26. IF there is a decision by GA to move them down to Aspire, it wouldn't take effect until the 26/27 season.
