| It seems to me the best teams in every age bracket are those who can piece together balance across their forwards, mids, and fullbacks, plus goalie. TSJ lost too many scorers between last year and this season, but they have a decent core in SOME age groups and I expect them to do better next season. |
| GAII for the TSJ |
| Ill ask the real question. McLean GA has an ID session tomorrow, SYC had some tonight and more on Tuesday. If my player wants to play full GA (or ECNL), do I send her and what are the consequences with her current Coach? |
| Yes GA2 Aspire for old ga teams |
The LS trolls are out strong trying to keep their girls from leaving. |
You're a bit late for SYC...but if you are going to go, attending a tryout (or ID session session, whatever you want to call it) in the cold, then it will be a good reality check to see if your DD has a chance against the talent that is there. And unless your kid really shines in the 1st 15 minutes, be prepared to receive a 2nd team offer. Unless the team has some big openings, its really hard to break in unless your kid has some amazing talent the team really needs. That aside.... It depends on your current Coach. They likely won't be too thrilled at finding out your DD is trying out for another team. Honestly, if you can't tell if your club is in support of this, I would keep it a secret and tell your kid to keep it a secret. My kid told a teammates last year, and word spread like wildfire. The Coach knew by the next practice and had a hard time looking us in the eye. My DD defiantly saw a reduction in playing time. In the fall she was a starter, in the spring she was not a starter as often and was subbed out more often. And there was not a formal 'good buy, good luck and we wish you well' from the coach. But another coach was indeed happy for my kid. So, it depends on the coach. Also, it saddens the other parents and kids too.... so keep it secret as long as possible if you can. I had another dad almost in tears because his older DD made and ECNL team and he felt bad, like a traitor. -Best move they could have done as our club had neither program at the time. |
Also realize that the coaches at the different clubs talk to each other. So even if your DD doesn't say anything, the SYC coach may tell your child's coach. |
|
| Coaches, kids, parents all talk. No way to keep it a secret. Just do what you have to do. |
we sure do want the kids the TSJ failed to coach that have a combined group of like 2 -100 out of 10 teams or something to that matter. The TSJ did them so wrong that most could not make a decent team and have fallen behind to others in area. |
| So every GA club in the area (even the brand new ones for next yay) is getting MLSN, but STJ? That is confusing |
one team has mls with out GA |
| My point is that mlsn "partnered "with GA. You'd think that all GA clubs would at least have tier 2 for mlsn. But all other GA clubs in the area, including new ones just announced for next year, got mlsn and not this club. It is very confusing and concerning. I guess the boy's side will vanish and the girl's side barely exists as is. Can't wait to see how they spin this. How does the original GA club in the area not get mlsn when they're partnered with GA? Make it make sense |
| cause TSJ is a complet shit show. It would be in poor business to give TSJ anything until they can field one competitive girls team. |
As bad as the girls side is at TSJ, boys is even worse. Remember TSJ was a girls only club until just a couple years ago. |
