Looks like a lot of the contenders are really testing themselves in the regular season. Should be a fun spring.

3/15 Madison vs Riverside Robinson vs Yorktown
3/20 McLean vs Robinson
3/23 Langley vs Robinson McLean vs O'Connell
3/25 Langley vs South River
3/27 Langley vs Broadneck
4/3 Madison vs Robinson
4/5 Robinson vs West Po
4/8 Langley vs Yorktown
4/12 Langley vs McLean
4/13 Madison vs Atlee
4/20 McLean vs Battlefield
4/25 Robinson vs Lake Braddock McLean vs Yorktown
4/26 Langley vs Sidwell Friends
4/27 Madison vs Cosby

Good to see the Madison star LSM Hau finally getting recruited by a D1 school. It makes you wonder abouyt public 6A schools if a decorated player on a 2x state champinionship team like that can't even get recruited.

College coaches don’t care where they play HS all recruiting is based on clubs and showcases where they watch players.

College coaches do look at those top private school conferences where they perceive to have the highest level of competition.

Classy post coach. I agree.

Pretty sure the Madison LSM was given a walk on spot. No doubt he deserves a scholarship but I myself was confused by the post from top caliber because typically walk ons do not do one. Regardless he should be playing wherever he wants, the VHSL has been rough on recruits recently, probably due to covid.

Does Bucknell lacrosse have Scholarship money?

Lacrosse is an equivalency sport when it comes to scholarships, so the money is divided among players. Very few get a full ride (unlike football where if you get a scholarship, you have a full ride). So, if the money isn't there, but the coach wants a player, they offer a "preferred walk on" spot. Same benefits, such as early admission "guaranteed" through a pre-read, access to trainers, tutoring, swag, etc.. I don't believe there are signed official letters of intent, as there is no athletic money involved. But everything else is the same. He was recruited and offered a spot on a D1 roster. I'd post about it. Congrats to him, his club, and his school.

D3 players also do announcements and IG posts. They do not have scholarships. I think the roster spot is a key. I think COVID was more of an issue for the 2021-2023 classes most of these will be all through the system for 2025 and beyond. The same number of players are committing I think it is just a VHSL issue with not as much talent as previous years. That is more on the clubs than the HS programs.

4/13 Madison vs Atlee should be the best game of the year on the public school side.

Are y’all forgetting about academic scholarships?

No, not at all. And a savvy coach can steer a recruit in the right direction regarding applications for merit and other scholarships. But they would still be classified as a preferred walk on rather than an athletic scholarship athlete. Great accomplishment, regardless of how the tuition is funded.
