Per CNN. Omicron is now in the US. I figured it was. Now there is confirmation. |
Ok |
It's probably been here for a bit. Just hadn't been sequenced. |
snore. of course it is. And you know what, things have been okay |
Someone in San Francisco area who returned from South Africa on Nov. 22. They were vaccinated but not boosted. Mild symptoms, close contacts have tested negative. |
This is not a surprise. When people aren't getting vaccinated the virus will continue to mutate. |
Yes - and when we don't also vaccinate the world - it will often happen outside our country then get brought here too. |
Shock.

The Bay Area does a lot of sequencing and test analysis etc . They have have ramped up in the past few days to go back through more samples. |
Sniffles and body aches. I’m terrified. |
All of that is good news. |
mild symptoms. Shocker. This thing is such a nothing burger |
+1, OP. I think there is media hype over Omicron for ratings. I am not discounting it, but I give it a side eye. |
Just for kicks, let's revisit this in a few weeks. |
I'm in CA....absolutely not even worried about it. I'm fully vaxxed, and boostered as is the rest of my family.
After Omicron there will be more that come along, so we just need to get used to the new normal. |
