Someone in San Francisco area who returned from South Africa on Nov. 22. They were vaccinated but not boosted. Mild symptoms, close contacts have tested negative.

The Bay Area does a lot of sequencing and test analysis etc . They have have ramped up in the past few days to go back through more samples.

+1, OP. I think there is media hype over Omicron for ratings. I am not discounting it, but I give it a side eye.

I'm in CA....absolutely not even worried about it. I'm fully vaxxed, and boostered as is the rest of my family.

After Omicron there will be more that come along, so we just need to get used to the new normal.
