Group of teens throwing raw eggs at cars on Wisconsin after school 10/26

Some of these fine young men have excellent aim and one clocked my kid in squarely on his head (open car window) while he was driving. Eggs also hit multiple cars, including his. This group was standing on the sidewalk outside of CVS before 4 pm, after Wilson and Deal dismissal. And in fairness, also after dismissal at Janney and a few private schools further away on Wisconsin Ave.

My son filed a report with MPD so they'd have a record, and the cop pointed out that if the eggs had hit my kid two inches away from where they did land, the gunk would've blinded him while he was driving through super congested area. Nice, right?

Anyway ... I'll go ahead now and await the DCUM usuals who tell me that I should clutch my pearls and just move to Olney already. Also anticipating that this DCUM faction will insist that these teenagers were Just Being Rowdy

Since all DCUM posts must have a goal: I hope someone reading this is connected to the Tenleytown neighborhood group that is working with MPD and DCPS to improve the environment there, weekdays 3-5 pm. For students, neighbors and the businesses.

What I wonder is, did these guys spring for the organic eggs at WF or just go with the stale ones for sale at CVS.

Teacher here and, unfortunately, not surprised. Many students who lacked stable homes and good adult role models this past year and a half have gone off the rails. Toxic stress from Covid and BLM is spilling out everywhere. I’m sorry this happened to your son or anyone. It IS seriously dangerous behavior. I’m glad it was only eggs however. Part of me has been expecting much worse. Scary times.

If the prosecutors wanted to take it as far as possible they could charge with attempted murder. I mean like OP said, the kid could have been “blinded” by raw egg while driving.

So let's change the story a little -
The egg clocked a driver - they lost control of a car and drove into a bunch of toddlers going for a walk from the local daycare.

It is not a big leap.
