Watched episode 1 during lunch today.
VERY good! Heavy stuff. |
|
Loved the first episode!
I absolutely love all things opioid epidemic. Very excited for the rest of the series. I really enjoyed the book Dreamland by Sam Quinones which does a deep dive as well with lots of personal stories. Michael Keaton is also one of my faves. |

I watched all 3 episodes today.
How all these assholes aren’t in jail is beyond me. |
| Those guys should have done serious jail time. |
| It’s almost too infuriating to watch. |
| It’s infuriating and infuriating Oxy has not been pulled from approval. |
| It’s hard to watch and yet I can’t wait for the next episode. Michael Keaton is so good. I forgot how much I enjoy him and hadn’t seen him in anything in a while. I was surprised he chose to do this and then saw he exec produced. Good for him. |
| Binged the first 3 Tuesday night and couldn’t wait until night for number 4 so I watched it during lunch. Great acting. There’s just enough background on each character. |
I'm the PP right above you and I also watched during lunch. Not sure I would have started it if I'd realized it would be weekly release (so used to binging these days, but that's another thread). |

Would this show be difficult to watch for someone who struggles with addiction or has family or loved ones who are addicted?
|
| Yes. I stopped watching in the middle of episode 4 |
| I’ve seen episode 1, and thought it was very good. But sensing the tragedy that’s likely to unfold, I’m not sure if I’ll be able to continue. |
As someone who just had surgery - I’m awful glad it is available and equally cautious about my usage but man does it work. |

God I hope that nasty sales rep b**** gets her comeuppance. She and her helmet of hair are so punchable. I hate how Eyebrows simps over her even though she’s so mean to him.
I don’t really understand the Richard Sackler character. Are they trying to illustrate that he was just so obsessed with his legacy in the family he would do anything to prove himself? |
This is what the creator Danny Strong said about it: “I think the stuff that we do in the show [with Richard Sackler], I think there’s a real truth to it…wanting to not be perceived as a dilettante, wanting to succeed on his own in a grand way, being one of the only people in the family that’s actually working…. So what’s that like when you’re working your ass off and you’ve got all these family members that are getting paid for your work, and all they’re doing is constantly asking for more money? That’s got to be frustrating.” Also, sidenote, how about Purdue Pharma's legal team sending a letter to the actor who portrays Richard Sackler?!
