FCVSJ in GA

Should FCV try to make a play to get into ECNL, it is clear they have the quality to be in.
Why have the ECNL not extended an offer?

Just put a popcorn bag in the microwave.

For the 50 times. They have made a play and were turned down. They don’t have the quality unless poaching from neighboring ECNL clubs. They are blocked due to over saturation and proximity to other clubs. They will not get ECNL. They will not get BRYC spot if they lose it. They will just drop the spot all together.

Question is: "should they make a play".
Yes, they should.
ECNL won't likely ask as PPs have said... already very sense in the area for another club. FCV, Burke, CYA, etc... there are more than just FCV in the area who would love to join but won't. Their successes in GA are known and ultimately irrelevant when ECNL thinks about diluting the area further. As it stands, Mid-Atlantic is very solid with 14 clubs across three states.

FCV players that are unhappy with GA can move and join any ECNL club. If you are a good player then take the challenge and show your talent. You can go to a club that is crowded and that may make it easy for you to go to playoffs but you may get frustrated with playing time. Or you can join a team and club where you can explode your talent.

I agree with this. I don't see why FCV should want to leave GA where they are at the top of the heap and doing quite well (as measured by college commits which is the measure, right?). As long as they can stay at the top of GA, compete in GA national tournaments, play in the GA champions league, give players good exposure, then this is a better scenario for them than to be just another middling ECNL club in the mid Atlantic.

Correct, it’s like there is no competition.

Arlington we’re a top 15 GA club.

Lower mid pack in the ECNL MA. I bet those players are happy to be challenged every week though.
Players have to be challenged.

FCV players please join BRYC and make BRYC great again.

If you want your kid to play in ECNL - join and ECNL team. FCV tries every year to get in .. they just can't. Once you burn a bridge then bad mouth ECNL with sour grapes... you are forever out.

Agree, with no FCV the war amongst ECNL clubs will get uglier.

I hear Arlington parents regretting the change.

Question: You think ECNL cares about FCV?

Ask Tophat.

The trouble with staying in GA in an area where there are ECNL choices is that in the long run, it will be hard to continue to attract top talent. The club will weaken over time.
