i'm curious also.

there's nothing exciting about a club offering Aspire and NCSL. Might as well play on a Vista team.

Loudoun Soccer has a financial interest and is heavy involved, hence the NVA "partnership" and other operational/technical collaboration (There are LS/NVA employee names all over the RBFC website and press releases, just not on the staff page).

You will likely see other "partnerships" with established non-profit clubs in order to access public/county field space to which they otherwise could not.

They reference a "RBFC Foundation" and a Make A Wish partnership, but an LLC is an LLC. And it's mission and values are to generate maximum profit, not develop your kid.

Revolution and St James also for profit, it’s not a new model. There are also plenty of clubs (Loudoun included) who claim to be non profit but only care about money.

Any business that charges for their services is out for money. Being nonprofit is a status for tax purposes only. It doesn't mean they dont care about making money.

For the most part, the RBFC coaches have experience with younger age groups and lower level leagues. They do not have experience with older age groups at higher levels. So RBFC may be perfectly fine for younger kids who just want to have fun but may not serve well kids who want strong development from the youngest ages. If you want a stronger focus on development, look at McLean or GFR or even Loudoun.

It all depends on the coach...

Private equity. Is this well known? PE is investing heavily in youth soccer because, well, look at us populating this board every day. They’re getting the money from PE just like other clubs in this country. It’s a new-ish trend.

No schedule which means they didn't pay, I wonder if they put their one team in initially as a VISTA team and then got the Loudoun backing and entered it as Loudoun.

What? It’s a rec team. No schedule because NCSL hasn’t posted rec schedules yet.

How do they have one rec team and one travel team? Where did the rec team come from? Its so odd.

Yes the coach was the dad of one of the players and now he’s one of the financial backers of Riverbend. The whole team did not leave so not sure they have a very full roster

It’s NCSL tryouts. No one playing in that tournament would be trying out for NCSL.

VISTA is an independent soccer team. Like a rec team that all decided to keep playing together in travel. Its really cheap.
