As a Democrat, it all feels hopeless.

Why don’t you familiarise yourself with Project 2025 main goals

- the complete elimination of the Department of Education

- complete abortion ban

- the department of Health and Human Services should "maintain a biblically based, social science-reinforced definition of marriage and family".

- It proposes to eliminate a long list of terms from all laws and federal regulations, including "sexual orientation", "gender equality", "abortion" and "reproductive rights"

- aims to end diversity, equity and inclusion programs in schools and government departments

That’s the thing though- they’re mixing in items that would have less support on their own (complete abortion ban) with things that would be more popular (e.g., rollback of DEI). And most people do t understand what the dept of education even does.

And with the looming economic woes and world wars going on, the 2025 through 2029 presidency won't be a fun one no matter who is in office. Apparently it will be Trump or Biden in office technically speaking but are those two really going to be in anything until 2029? Disgusting

Personally, I’m voting for the guy who won’t make the US a fascist subsidiary to Russia. But as ever bOtHsIdEs people think they’re smart.

Pretty sure the smart people are neither siders at this point. I can't and won't blame people for finding reasons to vote how they may but anyone openly and actively supporting the notion that either of these two likely major party nominees should be POTUS until 2029 is absolutely bat poop crazy.

This is why I’d prefer a parliamentary system. The race for president always ends up becoming a popularity contest rather than about which party you want to set the tone and agenda.

I am a moderate...I would vote for a Moderate Democrat or a Moderate Republican regardless of party affiliation.

That being said...as to the title of this post...you reap what you sow. You went too far to the left extremist, which caused a backlash from even the moderates, and in response the far-right extremists are now taking advantage...and flourishing so yes, I can see how you'd feel hopeless.

Now, I'm not one to vote for Trump...but the pendulum must be balanced between conservative and liberal values. Neither is better than the other and both should be equally respected.

The democrats have made many mistakes, including catering solely to far left extremists while discarding everyone else.

So tell me...what is a "moderate" to do? I feel hopeless for our entire nation...we are doomed either way.

The older democrats that refused to allow more than a two party system are to blame.

We are seeing the death of a party.

None of that, even if debatable issues on the merits, means a woman doesn’t have the right to work or an education.

Not if the gender equity mandate is removed.

Can’t you see it, this whole thing is obviously designed to keep women out of the workforce?

The gender equity mandate doesn’t have anything to do with a woman’s right to work or education.

From your link, but of course you know this:

Trump has disavowed the document.
"I know nothing about Project 2025," Trump posted on his social media website, Truth Social. "I have no idea who is behind it. I disagree with some of the things they're saying and some of the things they’re saying are absolutely ridiculous and abysmal."
