Disagree strongly. The school board and LCPS admins 100% created and exacerbated a volitile situation. If this had been handled professionally from the start, the father would not have felt the need to go balistic. The targeted prosecution of him by a politically motivated prosecutor after the fact was beyond the pale.

+1 And the prosecutor knew why the dad had been at the meeting. She: 1)personally prosecuted the dad for a misdemeanor; and, 2) asked for jail time. Neither is normal for a misdemeanor.

This x1000000

It was calculated, political prosecution!

This isn’t a normal case. Look how many eyes were on this case and how much it was being scrutinized in the public. She just stepped up, instead of putting one of her employees under that type of pressure.
It is normal for a prosecutor to ask for jail time in a situation like this, especially when the defendant is badmouthing and challenging them throughout out the process with such feelings of entitlement.
Instead of committing those criminal acts and looking for all the public attention, the guy should be trying to get help for his daughter.

An independent investigation has been set up but I imagine since Youngkin won and the political points scored most of you don’t actually care.

Is it really independent or is it a law firm with School Board connections?

And in most districts there would never have been a filing of charges.

BB claims it's not independent

Only way it will be completely independent is if it’s from out of state.

I hope the dad wins a $5 million judgment against the county.

The firm does have a lot of School Board connections (FCPS, ACPS, APS), but they also have very good reputation and definitely don't need the work.

He won’t. He’d have to take it federal since title IX is really the issue with how the male student was handled.

Maybe, but do you think they would want to burn bridges with the richest county in the country?

They're nothing to burn. They've never had any of that work, it always went to Reed Smith and then Sands Anderson. Also, LCPS general counsel used to work for B&K, so if they wanted an "in" they already have it.

This story is chilling. I don't know how a parent can mentally handle knowing their child was violated in such a way.

The treatment towards him was reprehensible

The dad. Prosecutorial discretion, in this case, was to make an example of dad. Truly mind-boggling - or just a sign of the blinders on the elites who view the world as one of complete commitment to changing the underlying fabric of what we know is true. We know that a dad angry at a school board seemingly covering-up the sexual assault of his daughter at school should not be prosecuted. That is a sane thought. Asking for jail time for him is mad (referencing Bari Weiss).

Eh, his chilling willingly did the dead numerous previous times. She still has the right to withdraw consent but she wasn’t a virgin, and had previously had consensual sex with this boy in this bathroom.
