Please leave all the immigrant landscapers alone. They have enough problems currently. |
| I understand the noise and pollution concerns, but I live up county on 7 acres and plan to continue to use my gas powered leaf blower a few weekends in the fall to clean up leaves. No one is going to hear or see it. When it breaks, I will look at battery ones. What makes sense for Silver Spring doesn't necessarily make sense everywhere else. I think that's the problem with the law. There should have been exceptions for large properties. |
+1 |
But I yearn for the heady days of my youth as a hall monitor. |
| I don't think any of the council members have a property more than a quarter acre. If they had larger properties with twenty or thirty oak trees, like some of us do, they would have a better understanding what's required to clean up the yard. |
|
Thing is, we have about a half an acre and don't clean our yard.
Just blow off the driveway and sidewalk. The leaves aren't going to attack you, unless you live in an HOA. |
How does your lawn not die? |

No Kings!
But Let’s go ahead and ban legally purchased gas blowers because we don’t like the noise. |
The two are not related, you moron. |
You keep telling yourself that. Lie to yourself. |
|
I’ve been using my gas powered blower for a few weeks now. No one has turned me in yet.
I think people realize that snitching is NOT anonymous, despite what the county says - and people are not willing to put themselves out there for turning in their neighbors. |
If those lawn service employees are here illegally, they SHOULD be arrested and deported. |
I have a Stihl electric leaf blower. It’s every bit as loud as a typical gas blower. |
It's anonymous in MoCo - I report the blowers and the folks who can't be bothered to shovel the snow off their sidewalks all the time. |
