Gas blower ban in MoCo

Anonymous
I don’t see an existing political thread….

I’ve been listening to a neighbors leaf blower for an hour. It’s not even on my block, it’s so loud. I thought they were banned on july 1st. I checked my ring camera and my landscaper is using the same leaf blower this week as they used in June, so they didn’t make the switch either.

Is the ban in effect? What do you do if you hear or see one? I don’t want to call 911 on Hispanic guys these days…

Anyone who could consider calling 911 over this has a screw loose.

IN most places there is an exception for commercial use.

ugh, seriously??? I hope that's not true in MoCo. The commercial services are the biggest offenders!

MoCo doesn’t have one except parks and schools.

The ban applies to private property, commercial property, local government, and County government.

The ban does not apply to Montgomery County Schools or Montgomery Parks (these properties are managed by the State) but both agencies are committing to a strong transition to electric leaf blowers.

In dc 911 is who you call for emergency and non emergency. Who DO you call in Maryland? The website doesn’t say.

In DC you should use 311 for non-emergency.

They need to making living too. Do you expect them to dump their equipment and get new ones? Tough on small businesses.

Tougher vs arresting and deporting them?

Buy them a new one.

I thought MoCo was going to subsidize the purchase of new leaf blowers?

It’s not a police issue because it’s not a law. Call 311 during the week if you want to report them.
It’s a code enforcement violation.
