Imagine gong to the 2019 Women's World Cup as a middle school aged kid and saying, "Mom and Dad, I want to do this!!" "Sure honey. We can do that!" Then buying a women’s teams. Wild, man. |
| Do you think Chloe ricketts is any good? I saw her play before she went pro. She was only special because she played on a boys team. Some kids are really good at marketing themselves. |
Chloe Ricketts is a publicity stunt gone wrong. Now the league is just trying to do right by her because she is a kid. |
Her parents are to blame. She was always a publicity stunt and her parents did that. |
| Just watched a USL game. It was the e definition of kick and run. DC power goal was literally an un aimed boot to no one from a defender and the other players raced each other to catch up to the ball. One FWD got a lucky toe there first ! My 12 yr old plays better. |
Where do they find the players for DC Power? There seems to be no process involved to how any of these players are found and signed. Totally random? |
Because you don't know the process does not mean there is no process. I don't know it but it's a pretty fair guess these teams have some sort of system. |
The kids club or college coaches call the USL coach. Or they get cut from NWSL and try to find a USL team. All you really have to show is interest. Most of the USL players were off the bench at sub tier colleges. |
BS. A number of DC Power’s players are recent grads of schools like UVA, Georgia, Wake, Stanford, etc. Most of the older players play as internationals, albeit smaller/lower-level countries. It’s hard to look good on TV. |
Some were actually very good college players, to be fair. Maybe not many but some were. |
Not good enough for pro teams. They are average at best. |
They were all good college players. They were all really good youth players too. The pyramid gets smaller as you progress in levels. I love the ignorance of DCUM. |
All of this. And the guy/woman who says his 12 year old is a better player than these women. Bless their heart. |
It doesn't matter what DCUM thinks. It's what the NWSL and USWNT coaches think. Those girls are NOT on this teams. They are not good enough. These are just facts. Also there are quite a few 14/15/16 year old on the highest level teams! Do your research. |
| Saying that they’re among the top .05 percent of soccer players in the world instead of top .01 percent isn’t the flex that you think it is. |
