Oh please - OP was just baiting to discuss, again, the two local very much of average (or under) capacity ECNL players who are both miraculously playing for Duke. It’s obviously not normal that two so average/under average siblings play soccer at Duke. Their under average capacity is underscored by the older’s lack of playing time at Duke and the reputation of the other one at her club team. So yeah, they got in based on something other than their soccer abilities. That is kind ilof obvious. I would guess a large donation to Duke athletics but who knows. Please don’t say it was their grades as better soccer players with outstanding academic credentials are a dime a dozen. So who know what it was? Not soccer.

They do actually. It is pretty important. They cannot recruit dummies. Some schools can -- Duke can't in anything but basketball.

This is pure BS. Duke is not selling spots on the team. Cannot happen after varsity blues. Coach and AD do not have that autonomy. Not just Duke but at almost everywhere.

This is pure BS or an uneducated response. Large donations can, in fact, help you get into elite universities. It won't buy your way in but will help you significantly be accepted over someone who has similar qualifications but no donation.

Varsity Blues inflated test scores and bribed officials. This is not the same thing.

Probably a lot of valedictorians wasnt to go to Duke. Most of their parents are not able to write checks with a good number of zeroes after turk to the school.

Varsity Blues was caught because bribes i mean donations went to college coaches. If the donation i mean bribe went to the school its completely ok.

Duke’s fall roster has 25 players but the new roster cap is higher at 28. Is it possible the coaches actually think these players can contribute? If not, they would have added more players up to the cap to get depth especialy in case of injuries, players missing for YNT camps, etc. They can also go over a roster of 28 by making these players Designated Student Athletes and then pick up better players in the portal. With the new roster limits, I just don’t see a high quality program taking up spots with players who aren’t at that level without adding other players when there is room on the roster or using DSA designation and going above a roster of 28. There’s no shortage of good players who’d want to play at Duke.

There is no need to for them add more players. 4 of the 25 players on the team played fewer than 100 minutes in a 22 game season. 2 of the 4 are the backup and "emergency" goalkeepers. The other two are simply "on the team," not "players."

Most of the Duke WS players fizzle out. They are all happily nested in the USL fake pros or gone. One exception...Cooper
