Agree about the dialogue between women. Some of the dialogue is just not realistic at all - like trying too hard.

I find this frustrating, too. Gabby is so compelling (the actress and the character when she's not being SO SASSY) but her dialogue is just so over the top.

You haven’t missed it - they haven’t showed the actual accident where the Mom dies (presumably in her Mini Cooper.)

I agree that the befriending of the drunk driver who killed the mother - and the daughter’s foot stomping insistence that her father be his therapist! - is unrealistic AF. I’m hoping it won’t take me out of the show because I love everything else.

I got used to Ted Lasso and Schitt's Creek, and ended up loving both. I'm still struggling with Shrinking after two seasons. But I'll watch because we're short on other options we're both semi-interested in.

Took me about half way through the second season. Shrinking took the longest with the lowest payoff. But nothing else in that space right now.

This character is very similar to how she was on the podcast Two Dope Queens, so I don't find it over the top at all.

1) who buys the same car for your daughter that your mother DIED IN A CRASH in. What?? A 2004 Mini is basically go-cart, in LA traffic nonetheless

2) I can get behind having some weird shared grieving with the DD who killed your mom, and it’s clear his life derailed too, but COME ON. That is a bit hard, but I really appreciate the Rory actor playing a very different role than he does in Lasso.

I don't think the mom died in the mini - it was just a car she had when she was younger?

so much of the show is unbelievable that it's weird that people are clinging to the drunk driver relationship.

Ahhh, I wasn't familiar with her. I finished Season 2 last night, and I will say that her Thanksgiving Day storyline made me cry. She's an excellent actress. (And damn, her Derek is hot!)
