Will Georgetown still be a T30 in 10 years?

If nothing else, the Varsity Blues scandal does show how some very rich people really value the Georgetown name for their kids

Right...tell me another one. Georgetown is as Catholic as Notre Dame and Villanova -- both not Jesuit. You only wish it wasn't Catholic...it is.

I don't have a dog in this fight, but I think the point is that the Jesuits have a tradition of being educators, in a way that isn't the same for Catholics overall.
And from what I understand, culturally, Gton is much less "Catholic Catholic" than Notre Dame.

But then I don't see good candidates that would replace Georgetown any time soon.

Schools at 28-29 are UNC, UF, WF.
These are not it at all.
Beyond that Tuft, BC, and bunch of 2nd rate UCs which are severely overrated.

Georgetown will flip flop at around 22-25 together with schools like USC, NYU, Emory, CMU, etc.

USC, NYU, Emory, CMU all have better trajectories and potential for T17-20. Whereas Georgetown will be more in contention with the likes of Wake, BC and Tufts, albeit at the top of that grouping.

It has done wonders for them! It also allows them to offer a bunch of cash cow grad and continuing ed programs.
