The current situation really highlights how unfortunate the family rift has turned out to be. It's interesting to think about how things could have been different if the family could have figured out a different approach leading up to and during the "Sandringham Summit." There's plenty of blame on both sides at this point, of course. Why would Harry ever want to go back? Why would Willam ever want Harry to come back? It would probably take something much more catastrophic than this for either side to be willing to work through their issues to have any semblance of a working relationship again.

Agreed. I think everyone thought there would be more time to let wounds heal, but with Charles' cancer it has made things even more complicated.

Err, I don't think so. They can live a pretty posh Hollywood life with almost no rules. Why would they go back to a place where they can't even make their own phone calls to a doctor without permission? Hell no.

They didn't want the Kardashians either, and yet they are billionaires multiple times over.

The Kardashians are rich because they were willing to drop their clothes.

This is such a weak argument-millions upon millions of people are willing and have dropped their clothes and done much more and have 1/1000 of what the Kardashians have.

The Kardashians (aka Kris) are brilliant and ruthless and willing to be vulnerable and exposed on a level most could not fathom!

Since the release of Spare/the Oprah interview, I can’t think of a single thing William has said / done that would indicate he wants Harry back in the fold.

When Harry was on Colbert following the release of Spare, he said that he wants to reconcile and the door is always open. I feel sorry for him - he obviously underestimated the harm of his interviews and book on any future relationship with the BRF.

Unlike William, Harry seems conflicted. On one hand, he trashes the monarchy - and then accepts titles for his kids. He wants to attend royal events - but then seems confused why he’s iced out. I really feel for him. The BRF was his identity for so long. Then he rebelled (understandably!), and now unfortunately he’s suffering the consequences.

My take is that Charles and Kate are much sicker than the statements imply and they need Harry’s help. William’s kids are too young for royal duties. Andrew is persona non grata. Like it or not Meghan and Harry can rock a meet and greet. Maybe William needs them.
