On the birth certificates of his kids Harry was Duke of Sussex as last name, not Mountbatten-Windsor. So now the kids will go by Sussex, the way William’s kids go by Cambridge now with his new title.

William’s kids now go by Wales after William became Prince of Wales.

No, he was Prince of Wales and became Duke of Cambridge upon his wedding. Same with Harry, first Prince of Wales and then Duke of Sussex.

No, Charles was Prince of Wales and his kids used Wales as their last names, but it wasn’t their title. Then William and Harry got Cambridge and Sussex as their own Titles and their kids used them as last names.

But when Charles became King, he passed the Prince of Wales title to William and since it’s a better title than Duke of Cambridge, his kids now use that at school.

Both of you are wrong and right. William was indeed Prince William of Wales and used Wales as a surname when surname was required. Then when he was created Duke of Cambridge, he (and his nuclear family) used Cambridge..Now that he’s THE Prince of Wales, they use Wales again.

And the attention

He's so tone deaf and has terrible PR.

The surname is their highest ranking title.

I meant to say their own title.

Prince George of Wales would be Prince George of wherever, depending on his father's title. But that doesn't make him Prince of Wales. "Of Wales" currently just means he's the son of the Prince of Wales. He was previously Prince George of Cambridge, son of the Duke of Cambridge.

For the children it’s actually their style derived from their father’s highest title. But I can’t face explaining style v title. It would require day drinking.

Charlotte could become Princess Royal one day.

She could become Queen someday if things play out that way. But probably not.

I get that they all change titles every time someone higher up dies, but it's seems crazy that they change their last names too.

Kids, I'm sorry to have to tell you that Granny just died. Oh, and we all have a new last name too.

I don't know, but Prince Harry still very sexy.

Also all of the money is going to look different.

The whole purpose of the RF is to sit around and be happy when your elders die. No wonder they all are horrible.

Yes. But once Charles dies, William can strip her and her children of all of their titles and honors.

She will become Dowager Queen Camilla. That is the title given to the spouses of deceased kings. Queen Elizabeth’s mother was called the Queen Mother because she was the mother of the monarch and it also avoided confusion because they shared the same first name. Camilla is not William’s mother so she must be Dowager Queen Camilla.

More likely, Camilla, the Queen Dowager
