Why do people on this board hate on Georgetown?

I just don’t like Georgetown the neighborhood as much as I used to. The school has produced some radical right wingers and between housing and tuition, it just isn’t appealing unless you’re going for a few specific fields. Tiffany being admitted to law school there was suspect too. Meh.

I think it’s a great school, terrific education and location with impressive job placements…

The big negative is the campus. It does seem in disrepair. I believe the other PP’s are correct on this point.

Georgetown campus is down-at-heel, for sure. 100% agree the administration needs to put some money into refurbishing the physical plant, and I am astonished that they don't seem to get this.

But the claim that "everything" is broken and full of rats/mold and so on is just silly. A lot of buildings could use some sprucing up, but the place is perfectly habitable, and I've never encountered any rats (except in the aforementioned administration!).

Things like that Instagram account are like all online reviews: usually people don't bother to post unless their views are extreme, and people who are extremely negative post more than people who are extremely positive.
