I'm not. He probably wants no more kids. In fact, I bet his dying wife made him promise to not shack up with some 30 year-old Southern WASP who would want to pop out 3 babies (all while ignoring his kids).

Totally makes sense to go with an older woman who (1) comes from the same cultural background and probably know the same people, (2) has a bit of her own money, and (3) is likely beyond her own fertility window and doesn't have kids of her own to complicate the situation. IIRC Tinsley really loves kids and really wanted a family of her own. This is a great compromise for her.

If he was dating someone in her early 40s or younger, there would probably be A LOT of pressure to have a new baby. I think he's making a really smart move.

She had her eggs frozen and made a big deal about wanting kids on Housewives. She cried seeing the frozen eggs. I wouldn’t be so sure she’s done with thoughts of kids.

This is spot on, though the easy peasy part is unnecessarily cold - a woman did die of a brain tumor in this story, mercy.
But the middle part about brunette husband in family business and blond in wife in (ignored) separate orbit, the family name from 1861 used as a first or middle name, and the rich southern preppy episcopal thing stuff, etc, is truly spot on. These people will have a family Christmas card with all five of them pictured on a beach dune wearing white button downs and khakis in the mail on Nov. 30th. And good for Tinsley, I always liked her too.

t’s been long enough and I am setting the record straight. The true story. Mimi Dial Bovard died in June 2021. Robert Bovard hooked up with Tinsley FOUR months later, right after my wonderful friend Mimi died of a brain tumor. Her three precious young children had no idea until two weeks before she died that their mother was sick. Mimi squeezed out as many normal days that her body would allow because her heart was stronger than the cancer. She loved those children to her death.

What's your point with this post? Spouses of terminal cancer patients usually grieve for their marriage for years before the spouse actually dies. Cancer eats away at the marriage.

It sounds like Mimi made the conscious choice to shield her kids from the news until the end was near. Her choice and that was respected.

The husband waited until after she passed away to start seeing someone else. Hasn't he suffered enough?

This kind of stuff happens all the time. I know two people from my church (one a woman and one a man) who both got remarried within one year of their spouses dying of cancer. Men especially are known for doing this. You need to get a grip.

Many widowers remarry quickly especially if the former spouse was ill for a long time.

I remember seeing an announcement about the death of a mom of a student in my DCs class around Thanksgiving. I met the student's new step mom at back to school night the next September. So less than a year later the dad remarried. I think having young kids increases the speed too.

I grew up with her, and she doesn't come from as much money as you think. Her mother does not come from money whatsoever, but was super beautiful when she was young which is always a plus. Her father ran Mercer Rug and Carpet, a rug cleaning company. They were UMC in Richmond during the 80s/90s, but they were not uber wealthy. I think of Dale as an early Kris Kardashian in that in the 80s/90s Dale was savvy enough to leverage her good looks and those of her daughters to get them access to high quality social scene. Not hating on Dale, although she's a bit wacko, but she was very calculated and socially smart.

Topper comes from MAJOR money. The Mercers are not even in the same stratosphere as the Mortimers.

The relationship between TM & Robert rocketed off upon meeting at a wedding in Virginia. Then began the many romantic getaways to Florida, ski trips, jet-setting the country, leaving the grief-stricken, mourning children home with a nanny to raise them. A few short months later, TM brazenly moved into his house, with his children who had just lost their mother. In comes the barrage of party dresses, crop tops, shoes, handbags, eyelashes, dogs and all. And she never left. This is the idea of class? A socialite? Why didn't she rent an apartment, buy a house or at least sleep in the guest room? So very shocking and disappointing. I have no doubt that those children will be raised by nannies until they turn 18 as Tinsley cannot handle a role as step-mother or caregiver to young children.

I suppose Tinsley’s dream of a young Prince Charming has finally come true and her dug-in patience paid off at last. She got engaged Dec 2022 with an emerald ring symbolizing Mimi's birthstone, which to me is disgusting and shameful. For this to be broadcast on national media gossip and news sites is appalling, tawdry and torture for her parents, her wonderful sister and hundreds of friends. This is breaking so many hearts.

Mimi deserves to rest in peace. Quit the torture and hurt. Leave the children and their mother's reputation and legacy alone. Posing those children in TM’s ''teasing" grandiose announcement to her ''fans" and the world was rash, inappropriate, and unforgivable. Their full names have now been revealed as if they haven’t gone through enough in their young lives already. I know TM needs and craves the media attention and publicity but for the love of God, leave the innocent young children out of it.
