If you are looking I would say NL 26 is the next rebuild. So if your kid (parent) is looking for playing time, good mix and coaching then NL is looking for players and if you are a student athlete at the school off Military Road then they would love to have you. You could also try Madlax who will need some players as they have not been able to get a good mix or coach to climb the rankings as they recently stated in the most recent IG post. I believe based on results from the US Clubs Nationals in Florida they are climbing down the rankings. Maybe NL (#61) and Madlax (#21) can swap players and see if they can climb the rankings for NL. Do your homework as you could land on team that could be a nightmare. Good luck! |

you are delusional if you don't think any club owner is trying to poach the stronger players from a rival club. I've also noticed the HS teams now have more kids representing boarding schools.
its business and playing time becomes harder each passing year as kids grow / mature. if you are worried about your son's playing time at the HS club level, my advice would be to avoid NL and Mad Lax. They are both nationally recognized programs and naturally attract talent from well beyond the beltway limits. |
Agree NL ML and for that matter DCE are constantly trying to poach each others players and if you are a standout anywhere you will be approached by respective parent leader for sure. |
I think your name might be Nostradamus? Very accurate post. |
I can't speak to NL 27 or 29 girls, but NL 29 girls is the dominant team in DC/ VA currently. |
| *correction, I can't speak to NL 27 or 28 girls, but NL 29 girls is the dominant team in DC/ VA currently. |
|
All 4 teams are in top 20 so i wouldnt say "dominate"
NL-12 BLC-13 Pride-16 Stars-17 |
Are the coaches recruiting or parents over brunch at the Club? |
Agree, that is not dominating at all. The 28 and 27 NL teams are not good at all, overall the NL middle school teams are not strong as the PP mentioned. |
Very accurate indeed. Watch your backs, NL 26. Good luck to you all as change is in the air. |
| This thread is confusing. What and who are Stars and Pride? |
Girls club lacrosse teams. |
I don’t follow. Are you saying current NL 26 players need to watch their backs bc NL is recruiting New players? |
Lol. If DC and VA is made up of MCE, BLC, and Stars, then sure. Would put Pride ahead and clearly the MD teams to the north are superior. |
I get why I would not send my HS girl to NL but why not the 8th grader? If you play NL in 8th grade do you think that forecloses a future playing lacrosse in HS for a better club? Does NL not have the caliber of player(s) that can move to a better club in HS? |
