They are mom's or teachers, or independent. At St Albans, a MAJORITY of the 22 person board are not alum, and 5 of the 22 Trustees are women. Fish rot from the head, and that a school where nearly 100% of the students were born to woman, it is disturbing the governing board has 3 women out of 29 members. That says it all right there -- women are not respected by that institution. The 'boys can take it from here' -- which they have done in spades.

This just makes me nuts, and I am a dad with 3 sons. You want your sons to treat women well? Demonstrate your respect for the value women bring to institutions, and have a board, not an old boys reminisces society setting the values at the board level.

If you look at Wikipedia edits history feature, you will see a huge effort to strip Huguely from Landon's entry in Wikipedia. You will also see efforts to modify discussion of its history with SAT cheating scandal.

From the Landon website, the board is dominated by alum, and only 3 of 29 trustees are women.

This is Lord of the Flies from top to bottom -- what else can you call it?, and this is what happens without women's civilising influence.

I totally agree! I am not just talking Landon, but all high schools (public/private) have their little skeletons. There is so much more that goes on in a high school (sexting, cyber bullying, racism, drinking, drugs) that parents aren't aware of except the kids/parents getting caught. Let's face it, at our next dinner party we aren't going to talk about how junior got a girl drunk...undressed her when she passed out... took pictures of her with his latest gadget that mommy and daddy bought him....and posted them on-line. Trust me...it is scary.

The issue isnt about money or fame among alumni.

The issue is whether Landon is breeding Mysoginists at a rate disporportionately higher than the other boys schools, because if so, it is not all nature versus nurture. I think the composition of these boards
in terms of the balance of power between alum, women, parents, says a lot about what these institutions value. Landon clearly believes in 'the good old days', and seems to have little room for parents or women driving values from the top down

My guess is that it's a current Landon student or recent alumnus. It's so over the top. A parent might think this, or say it to another Landon parent, but not post it. The thing I've always found so creepy about the Landon community is how the moms often fawn over the boys and brag to one another about how Alpha their sons are. I think that plays a big role in fostering this type of gross behavior and misogyny.

I'm a PP, and 18:09 is right. The school has a lot of great qualities, but unless they can broaden their demographic from rich Republicans, they're going to be extinct right along with the old-line WASPS. The parent body is still stuck in the Eisenhower era.
