WAY more Attention with Blonde Hair

Anonymous
I bleached my hair and got long blonde extensions. I’ve never gotten so much attention in my life.

Can anyone else relate?

I can go in public for just a couple hours and get called cute and beautiful by random strangers on the street. I was waiting for my Uber and this random man started calling me gorgeous and asking if I was a model lol. And then he kept offering to drive me anywhere (obviously I said no). Women have been much colder to me though, like a female cashier completely ignored me at a cafe and served everyone else before me. Someone else ended up taking my order.

And I’ve only been blonde for a few days. I feel self conscious in a way, since it’s very bright and attention grabbing. And I feel people staring at me in public. I think one woman at my building thought I was a prostitute or something lol (I had boots with big heels on them). And I’m still in my late 20s btw, but my parents live in a fancy condo with a private elevator and most of the people living there are retired wealthy people. I was only visiting for Christmas.

I got attention with very long brown hair (and when I say long, I mean like 22 inch extension long). But with blonde hair, it’s like I can’t stand outside for 30 seconds without being accosted or someone commenting on my appearance.

And the weird part is, I almost think I look more attractive with BROWN hair lol. But the blonde is just so bright and attention demanding. I also have to wear so much makeup and bronzer because it washes me out so much. I don’t know how I can return to work with hair like this though (I work in a serious conservative environment). So I might have to cut it a bit shorter or tone it down some.

uhhhhmmmmm I would just say 'does it look natural.... or does it look processed/DONE'... as that would explain the inappropriate attention/the females being embarrassed for you. Then I read the comment about you wearing more makeup and I think we have our answer. this is not good attention. Maybe get to a cosmetic counter and get help toning it all down before you get back to work?

Agree. I went blonde and was shocked at how nice people are

I witnessed it with my blonde child all her life.

yep. Blonde, thin, groomed all add an added dimension of positive attention.

and those are not my natural states but I've been them all at different times. And it's not just self confidence.

Op please make sure you look like someone from DC and not *gasp* California….or even worse FLORIDA.

Is this a troll?
Why is a 20-something here talking about her extensions?

You probably do look like a lady of the night. They are just trying to get done for free. Throw enough stones and all.

Those are separate categories which also garner huge amounts of attention. I imagine that men would pass out from excitement if they saw all those at once.

Natural blond here. So, when I was 8, I looked like a hooker? Like it or not, blond hair is eye catching and blondes receive a lot of atention...much of it unwanted.
