WAY more Attention with Blonde Hair

Yep I'm Asian and although I get lots of attention I am not blonde level. I actually think many beautiful women of color are missed due to the initial attention factor a blonde receives (in other words, a blonde could be a 6 but get the same attention a 10 WOC receives). But this is probably a good thing because strange male attention sucks.

I have a good friend who is a dark blonde/bordering mousy brown, but dyed her hair blonde. She does get attention.

DH told me that because of her blonde hair, she stands out, and at initial glance, she could be striking. But, for him at least, he said when he really looks at her, she's not that attractive. And before someone says, "He only said that to make you feel better..", no, he knew both of us at the same time before we started dating. We all worked together, so if he was interested in her, he could've gone after her but he didn't. DH also prefers darker coloring. But, his comment I think is spot on.

The blonde hair stands out.

My friend decided a few years ago that she was going to stop dying her hair. She went back to her natural hair color. She's a lot older now, so she doesn't care about the attention.

I think blonde hair is an instant halo effect for mousy women. Being tan, thin, and blonde can make most young people look beautiful from a distance

Im petite with fair skin and blue eyes. My hair is fine and short, and im middle aged.in other words, no 20 something glamour queen here. But when I go from dark blonde/ashy brown to very bright blonde I get more attention. I also wear a lot of black and the very light blonde looks better than darker blonde . I also look less washed out, curiously, than with darker hair because my pale eyes look less pale and my skin looks healthy pink. I wish it did not cost so much money and time.

Have fun OP! I can't ever go full blonde due to my race and it would look terrible. But it sounds like it would be fun for a little bit. I am enjoying being a redhead for a bit.

I’m sure it’s true and I say that as someone who isn’t blonde. A well done blonde (dyed or natural) is unusual and pretty.

Natural blond here. So, when I was 8, I looked like a hooker? Like it or not, blond hair is eye catching and blondes receive a lot of atention...much of it unwanted.

Natural blond and bleached blonde are two different looks

Not really? I'm a natural blonde and people ask me all the time who my colorist is.

Depends on your age imo. Over middle age, it definitely looks colored or highlighted.

Also noticed this when I recently went blonde. Not as dramatic as your look (hair length just below the shoulders, hair is not very light or platinum) but I did notice a difference. I get checked out more and people assume I am younger than I am even though my face looks my age.

This comment is so funny and embarrassing, I am 😖

Former natural blonde here (tall/thin) no question it was an attention getter. It darkened with age and now I am a mere mortal.

Being blonde makes you feel powerful. But I also think people take you less serious in the workplace or academic environments. I think Legally Blonde paints an accurate experience lol. I also feel like people have less empathy for me if I have bright blonde hair and a more glamorous appearance. Or people assume you are vapid and rude.

Appreciating an aspect of white genes isn't racist.

How? There are many non white women who look beautiful with blonde hair, such as Jessica Alba.

And many unattractive white women who have black or brown hair.

Blonde is bright, rare, and eye catching. Which equals more attention. Just look at a photo of brown hair compared to blonde.

Mostly only wealthy people can afford to maintain long blonde hair too

Disagree, I think it happened as they say and it's hilarious to read and to read their own interpretation. I'm not sure if op thinks being confused with a prostitute is a good thing but I doubt the neighbor was thinking that at all.
