5'4'' is exactly the average height for women in the US. So it's normal, not petite. I'm 5'4'' and anything petite is too short for me.

NP. Has it occurred to you that there are different body types?

At my very smallest at 5’4 I wore a size 4 - it didn’t suit me and I looked unwell. I look much better and my body naturally likes to be a 6/8.

I’m 5’4 and must wear petite in pants because I have a long torso, so the poster saying 5’4 is not petite is just flat out wrong. For tops, I can get away with regular sizes for anything but jackets/blazers, but for again I must have petite for the sleeves to fit correctly.

Clothing size varies too much from brand to brand to be a meaningful measure of body size. If you want advice, post your actual measurements or specific brands.
