any other gamer moms out there?

I'm just going to have pine away for DA3 until it gets released. Until theny I'm going to start on Dues Ex - hopefully it's as good as the first two.

I'm a HUGE DA fan! While you're waiting for the next one, try playing the Mass Effect trilogy. It's also a Bioware game, and even though the subject is different (sci fi/space vs. fantasy) you still get the amazing graphics, realistic characters and complex storylines that you had in DA.

Hey, don't knock the "olds" - my generation brought you D&D and Atari (which I still have and still enjoy playing).

I would be stoked to find an old timers live D&D group. I never played, but frankly, I would pick it over Mah Jong or Bridge or some shitty Pampered Chef party.

What a fantastic thing to see on DCUM!!! We do tabletop D&D. (To answer a question from waaay back in the thread... we do 3rd edition Pathfinder--it's really great!)
Gaming is a hobby, and like any hobby, it can be a pleasant diversion done by normal people, and there can be the super small minority of people that get obsessed. Some people get obsessed by golf, but they never get hated on the way gamers do. Sheesh. Anyway, so glad to see us all here!

I play Shadow Cities on my iPhone - mulitplayer on line game. It's very flexible and some of the folks who chat are very funny.

My husband and some of his friends meet up about once a month to play D&D. There are definitely groups out there.

Do you? I seriously doubt it. But you completely explain all the nasty posters who can't live and let live.

I love these posts. Next up, we'll be hearing about how all the D&D players are actually being converted to Satanism, if the heavy metal lyrics haven't already done the job

Seriously though, what I find really amusing is that a family sitting around playing board games doesn't get a second glance. A group of adults doing the same thing(And yes, that falls under the definition of "gamers" as well) is often looked down on for some reason. A game is a game. There's nothing inherently good or bad about them. I don't see complaints about Mahjong groups, weekly poker games, or any number of other types of games. The only times there are problems are when you place too much importance on them, but that's true whether you are spending too much time playing them, to the point you neglect other things, or you hate them so much that you start denouncing anyone that enjoys them. Everyone plays games, from crossword puzzles, sudoku, board games, video games(Those games on your phone count), sports games, etc. That doesn't make anyone any better than the other.

Except for those who play Magic: The Gathering. Those are some sad, sad people

See, I was wondering if gamers were responsible for some of the randomly abusive posts recently - but you're randomly abusive and you're obviously *not* a gamer! So my theory has been punctured.

Never got into Mass Effect b/c the first one wasn't released for the PS3. Would I still have a good experience even if I just did the 2nd and 3rd? I really prefer gaming on a console to a PC but I might have to break down to get my bioware fix. Speaking of Bioware, I also loved KOTOR!

There is a continuous story line between all 3 of the ME games, so I wouldn't recommend skipping one. I personally think the first one is the best, although they all had their high and low points. In fact, the first ME might have been the reason I finally broke down and bought a 360. If you did skip it, I would definitely read what happens in the first one. And yes, KOTOR rocked!

The first ME is definitely the best, although they are all amazing. It pretty much rocked my world, gaming-wise, and I'm normally a very casual gamer.
