It's my dirty little secret but I totally love playing World of Warcraft after the kids go to bed. Yes, I'm a nerd and I agree I need a life but it is fun

I don't really play any MMORPGs (although I have dabbled with a few in the past) but I occasionally play RPG-style video games if they have really compelling stories. I just finished playing Mass Effect 3 (the Mass Effect games are my favorite video games ever!), and I love the Dragon Age games. I'm currently playing Skyrim, at the suggestion of DH, who is a big gamer. I could definitely be convinced to play another MMO but there aren't any that really draw me in right now.

please tell me this is a joke.

I'm sorry for your kids and DHs.

If it makes you feel better, I'm sorry that your DH and kids have such a nagging bitch for a wife and mom. I'm sure your DH's next wife will be much more laid back.

I am with you!

To the above PP who feels sorry for our kids and husbands, don't! They love it.

I'd be into games if I could find a good one. WoW sucks ass.

I was kinda into Fable but the first one was the best.

Anyone have any game reccs that will making me stop pining for my beloved LOZ: Ocarina of time? I don't like shooting games like Mass Effect.

Try the Dragon Age games. No shooting (well, you can shoot a bow and arrow if you want), more like swords and magic. The story is great and the voice acting is phenomenal. There are a lot of famous voices that you'll recognize.

Now your defending your immature, time-sucking "hobby" by calling me names? Even sadder.

My husband and I find better "games" to play in the evening. I don't think he'll be leaving me anytime soon. But your projections on me have me thinking you are feeling a little insecure that one day your DH will realize he married a 15 yo boy!

I love video games, but can't get into the super nerdy ones.

I was playing my Nintendo DS while waiting for the doctor one day. He came in and felt compelled to share that video games have been shown in studies to help with long-term brain function in adults. Some may feel sorry for OP and other gamers. We'll see who needs sympathy in 40 years.

Rock on with your nerdy games!!

Don't be so grouchy. You are most likely from the generation where girls did not play video games growing up.

Yeah... my DH is a big gamer. He loves it when I play (and it has no effect on our sex life, er sorry, "games"). And I know that this might be difficult to wrap your limited brain around, but all hobbies are time-sucks. That's why they're hobbies.

If you think that gaming is immature and for 15 year old boys, let me educate you with a few statistics:

* 49% of gamers are under 18
* Therefore, 51% of gamers are adults (split evenly between 18-49, and over 50)
* 40% of gamers are women
* The average age of gamers is 32 years old

Time to open your narrow mind and widen your perceptions.
