any other gamer moms out there?

Have any of you gamer mom's seen The Guild? It's a hilarious web show, but you can also get it on Netflix (it's one of the streaming shows).

watchtheguild.com

I also game, but only on my little wii, mostly Zelda games...working on finishing Skyward Sword. Haven't gotten into MMORPGs yet, but it's only a matter of time...

Hell no!! I have way to much work to do.

It isn't the same kind of gaming, but I love the sims.

It seems there are so many gaming options that even those who don't consider themselves to be gamers enjoy an occasional game. That's really awesome.

I'm sorry for your kids and DHs.

If it makes you feel better, I'm sorry that your DH and kids have such a nagging bitch for a wife and mom. I'm sure your DH's next wife will be much more laid back.

Now your defending your immature, time-sucking "hobby" by calling me names? Even sadder.

My husband and I find better "games" to play in the evening. I don't think he'll be leaving me anytime soon. But your projections on me have me thinking you are feeling a little insecure that one day your DH will realize he married a 15 yo boy!

Yeah... my DH is a big gamer. He loves it when I play (and it has no effect on our sex life, er sorry, "games"). And I know that this might be difficult to wrap your limited brain around, but all hobbies are time-sucks. That's why they're hobbies.

If you think that gaming is immature and for 15 year old boys, let me educate you with a few statistics:

* 49% of gamers are under 18
* Therefore, 51% of gamers are adults (split evenly between 18-49, and over 50)
* 40% of gamers are women
* The average age of gamers is 32 years old
(http://www.onlineeducation.net/videogame)

Time to open your narrow mind and widen your perceptions.

Even with those supposed statistics, it's still sad. The statistics don't change my opinion on the type of adult who continues playing video games well into adulthood. It's an immature hobby.

You're on DCUM. At 5 AM You already HAVE an immature hobby. now pop open that bottle of wine. Playgroups coming over in a few hours.

I get up at 5am for work. Jumped online to check email and see what amusing insults you keep trying to throw at me. Admirable attempt to deflect insecurities.

Wow, you are very defensive, PP. Will it make you feel better if we pretend to humor you, despite the thorough smackdown given to you by about 40 different people?

Funny because I wrote the pp and I am not a gamer. BTW here you are again, at 5 PM. Maybe you should move onto Pinterest or Facebook before bedtime.

The real go-getters get up at 4:30am and aren't still loafing around the house at 5.

They definitely need to find a way to work her back in. Also, in case you didn't know, she's gonna be guest starring on Supernatural tomorrow night.

You got online at 5am to see if you were being insulted on an anon blog???? Oh wow, someone needs to get a life and it's not the gamers.

Two things

1) Does anyone have a flask of oil? Maybe 3 or 4?

2) If you think you might want to join a tabletop D&D group, check out my blog: http://dndstuffedanimals.blogspot.com/ (and then email me if you're still interested).

It is just so cool that tabletop D&D is still being played. I used to play and kinda assumed that in the world of FPS and RPG's it had died out. Rock on old school D&D'ers.
Anonymous
I am an MMO gamer mom but had to quit because I got addicted. Lots of lonely, bored housewives out there...if only I gave a rats ass about Pinterest or the Food Network or candles or Church, etc.
