Vent from a very pregnant lady on the Metro

Hi OP, i know it can feel awkward and invasive to ask someone to take their bag off the seat so you can sit, but it has to be done. I take Amtrak a lot on the busy northeast corridor line and have to do this all the time, and I'm not even pregnant.

Right, but they’re also not entitled for two seats with one train fare — which is what people are doing when they use an empty seat next to them for their crap. This isn’t about people giving up their own seats, it’s about them taking up empty seats with things.

If OP is either too shy or too stupid to speak up for herself, then it's her problem.

When I was pregnant with my first I would have been more like this. With my 2nd I was early on / not showing but having bad morning sickness and just needed a break. One week on my bus I said “excuse me, I’m actually pregnant and would appreciate that seat” after that if commuters recognized me they always offered me seats.
