No kidding. More conspiracies. More rumors.

Think about it folks. Kavanaugh has unequivocally and without reservation denied the allegations. More than once. So, there are two possibilities. Either she made up the claim, or she has experienced trauma and has remembered the experience incorrectly over the last 36 years. That is it. Two possibilities.

So, the idea that Kavanaugh, and others may believe she is confused is not a stretch and not indicative of any kind of conspiracy.

Really, then why did he suggested to Orrin Hatch that it could be a case of mistaken identity? And Whelan decided he would do this on this own, plotted for a whole week and never talked to Kavanaugh, even though he is close friend and adviser to him?

How stupid you think everyone is?

Bolded - Because that is what he believes has happened here. Either that, or she is lying.
As to Whelan - I seriously doubt he has had the time, nor the inclination to chat with friends in the past week. And, were it to ever surface that Kavanaugh worked with him on this conspiracy theory, his chances would be sunk.
This is more a case of someone who supports him putting theories (albeit appalling and unforgivable) out there to his followers.

You know this, and I know this. But Whalen didn't know this. And I'm not at all sure that Kavanaugh didn't know this. He may have been talked into the idea by the PR guys he's been working with lately. But aside from Whalen's directionless apology, Kavanaugh remains mum.

Oh, BTW, there is this spokesperson lady from the lobby farm pushing for Kavanaugh's nomination was on TV touting this doppelganger theory last night or the night before...

There are two additional possibilities. He was trashed and didn’t and doesn’t remember. Or, he is a LIAR just as he’s provably lied about not remembering Kosinski’s jokes and Miranda’s stolen memos.

Got it, folks?

Yea, but the one making the accusation has the burden of proof. And since it's not been proven, the default position without any more evidence is that she made it up or that she doesn't remember.

I agree.

In that case you would definitely be rooting for and calling your GOP leaders to ensure they investigate this by professional investigators, rather than the invetigator-wanna-be Whacky Whelan.

No we are not interested in investigating a clearly troubled woman who is having memory issues. We'll just let it slide.

You what I think? I think Brett has done this before. A lot. With multiple victims. And I think the WH knows this, but Brett was going to be their get out of jail free card, literally. They’re just so incredibly incompetent. They have the votes alright (maybe) and zero ethics or morals.

They know he’s guilty AF. Hence the prepping, prepping, smearing, prepping, defamation.... they really are trying to outrun Mueller.

No we are not interested in investigating we know a clearly troubled woman that’s the misogynist take you want everyone to have, but she’s a respected professional who is having memory issues no she’s not, you’re just claiming she is. We'll just let it slide.

I don't think this. I think he took things too far once in HS and either doesn't remember or has minimized it in his memory. I think he's a bit weak and takes the easy way out, lying to get out of trouble and letting others steer his PR choices. Since his PR guys are awful, he's making awful decisions right now.

Sure. That’s why so many people have come out and made allegations, Weinstein-style.
(You might want to keep your thoughts to yourself since expressing them serves no other purpose than to expose you as an idiot. It’s best to leave people wondering instead of removing all doubt)

I think the idea that Whalen did this on his own without consulting others working on the confirmation is unlikely.

I think the only thing Whalen is sorry about is mentioning the other student by name instead of using a pseudonym.

I think the Republicans have not been helping Judge Kavanaugh I how they have handled this. If they confirm him without hearing from Dr. Ford then there will always be a shadow over his appointment; and I am sure that is not what he wants. The Republicans should have gotten President Trump to reopen the FBI’s background investigation, so that the stories of the three people allegedly in the room could have been obtain out of the line light. The friend Judge would no doubt say he has no recollection; Jidge Kavanaugh would say he has not recollection of the event, that since he has never acted that way with anyone else he has no reason to believe that it happened, and he does not think it happened. During follow-up questions he would have to concede that he do drink, probably to excess on occasions, and that he cannot remember what he did or did not do at every party. But he would also testify to the fact that he does not currently have a drinking problem. Dr. Ford would say what she has already said. In the end, the Republicans in the committee would be saitisfied that the facts don’t show that it is more likely than not that the even happened as described (particularly since 36 years have passed since the event) and would move his nomination forward. Murkowski and Collins would have the cover they needed, and they and the other Republicans would vote to confirm. In the end Republicans would make comments like, I believe that DR. Ford believes what she is saying is try, as she remembers it, but there is no way to know what acctualky happened, and without proof, there is no reason to not move forward with the appointment of Judge Kavanaugh.

I think Kavanaugh's testimony during the hearings was disappointing, not reassuring. And I don't think a man of character would let a PR guy make all these bad decisions for him.

I think ambition has taken hold of him and he's flying too close to the sun.

If Kavanaugh can't even properly manage his own confirmation hearing - the most important job interview in his life - why should I trust him to aptly manage the caseload of a Supreme Court justice?

He's bungled this so badly. He doesn't even have his story straight and evidence emerged that he has perjured himself multiple times. He's sloppy, and that doesn't cut it on the Supreme Court.

No one prohibits FBI to investigate it, the only problem, FBI has no authority and no jurisdiction to investigate it.

In a proper confirmation process, the president would tell the FBI to investigate new information. But Trump has said, with a straight face, that that's not his job. So here we are.

Trump, GOP and Kavanaugh do not want FBI vetting this complain. There must be a reason for it.
