Did GOP/Kavanaugh conspire with Whelan to dox and accuse an innocent individual of sexual assault

So, here is where we are from what I have seen reported. Not vouching for these reports.

Sometime in the early '80s, Ford remembers that she was assaulted by Kavanaugh and told no one.
2012: Ford remembered an event that took place years and years ago. This memory was reported while in therapy--and therapist wrote that four boys were involved. No names.
Sometime in 2012: Ford told her husband that it was Kavanaugh.
Also in 2012: Kavanaugh's name was reported to be on short list of SC nominees if Romney was elected.

My question: did the news report about Romney prompt Ford to tell her husband that Kavanaugh was the guy?

2018: Ford reports that there were only two guys in the room. One was Mark Judge.

July 2018: Feinstein gets letter--which has not been released to the public or the Committee Chair (Grassley) Reportedly, Ford asked to remain anonymous.
Meanwhile, Ford hires "resister" lawyers to represent her. She takes a polygraph. At some point she pretty much is removed from social media. There was a news report where she was participating in a "science protest" against this administration and wore a pink hat crocheted to resemble a brain.

It is not unreasonable to assume that she spent the time since July with her lawyers preparing for going public.
After the lawyers saying she wanted to come forward and tell her story (two weeks ago) she has been underground. She has reported death threats (which I absolutely believe--this seems to be common these days. However, many others involved on the other side have also received death threats.)

Stories are now swirling around that she does not wish to fly. This I also believe could be true--although, it would be interesting to know how long she has followed this practice.

Bottom line: it is her word against Kavanaugh's.
I do think women should be taken seriously. However, it is not unreasonable to believe that she would never have come forward with these allegations, had Kavanaugh been nominated by Obama.

Yes it’s obvious she was frightened of the consequences of her letter, and the death threats against her have proven her justified in that.

I’ve had therapists and doctors write down things incorrectly. Sounds to me like therapist heard there were 4 others at party and wrote that number down for the attack.

Thanks for the summary.
One big question I have, and if she testifies, I hope she is asked.....
If she didn’t want to go public, and she wanted to remain anonymous, what did she expect Diane Feinstein to do with her letter? What did she hope the outcome to be?

These things are not always clearly planned ahead of time. She could have just wanted Feinstein to have the information to use confidentially, with the understanding that there was a risk of leaking.

I hope she is asked about this at her testimony, if she shows.
Her intentions in mailing this letter are not clear and are questionable.

No - to many of us. There are many questions about her intentions. Not only surrounding her mailing of the letter, but other actions she has undertaken like scrubbing her social media, hiring an attorney, and taking a polygraph.

Uh, maybe because psychos are sending her death threats and trying to hack into her online accounts? What exactly is wrong with “scrubbing” your social media info? You are not entitled to it.

She’s already reported these to the FBI. If I had explosive info about a famous public figure that called into question their fitness for office, I’d also minimize my online presence

You have seen the beginning of the fallout from this given the connections between Whelan/CRC and Grassley's office, right?

https://twitter.com/WarfareNavel/status/1043507877950967809

I mean, another couple of hours and likely people from Hatch's office will need to resign too.

This whole thing stinks to high heaven, but the GOP has taken what should have been a routine allegation to contain and is in the process of turning into a pretty significant stain on the Senate.

Pschos are also sending death threats to Kavanaugh's wife. I feel sorry for the daughters.

I saw the teacher's name on a letter of endorsement for Kavanaugh. The link above shows his yearbook page and he definitely was friends with Judge and Kavanaugh. The fact that he's not screaming tells me Whelan had his permission. I hope the Atlanta school he works for removes him from the classroom until he can be investigated. I also think there needs to be an investigation on how Whelan got Dr. Ford's name before it was published and how much Kavanaugh knows about this plot. Dr. Ford has already said she was friends with (teacher) and visited him when he was in the hospital. It's frightening that these lawyers run this country and they are so stupid.

Really, you think a middle school teacher would give permission to accuse him of attempted rape?

How much would you have tp pay the teacher to ruin his career so Kavanaugh could get a lifetime appointment to the Supreme court?

I doubt Whelan even bothered to tell the teacher about the impending twitter accusations. That teacher counted for nothing to him, except for his value in getting Kav off the hook.

It's not just their stupidity that's frightening, it is their immorality. These are men who fundamentally believe that the ends justify the means. Need to lie to get on the court? Sure they'll do it. Need to throw a former classmate current middle school teacher under the bus? Sure they'll do it. Need to abdicate their responsibility to conduct real hearings on advise and consent? Sure they'll do it. Need to hypocritically "plough through" by any means necessary to make lightening fast appointment of highly unpopular nominee? Sure he'll do it.

That my friends is a group of men, many of whom are lawyers, that simply have no moral compass or integrity. That is frightening.

Actually, this whole mess coy have been avoided had Ford simply reported this to law enforcement decades ago.

People didn't report attempted date rape to the police in the 80s. Be serious.

She won’t report it to the police now either

I wondered if the Ethics & Public Policy Center was going to fire Ed Whelan and see he is the president. It is described as being, "dedicated to applying the Judeo-Christian moral tradition to critical issues of public policy, and advocacy of founding principles such as the rule of law."

What would Jesus think?

Kavanaugh needs to be asked what did he know and when did he know it about "this slimy smear campaign." Because if he had anything to do with it he would be disqualified from being on the Supreme Court.
