I have ear problems that make blowing my nose very painful. I sniff, sorry. Feel free to move away from me. You have a weird hang up but most people have one crazy quirk.

I hate sniffling too! I'm so glad I'm old now, because the worse thing was when I was a student and someone around me would be sniffling every other minute while we were taking exams in otherwise complete silence. Drove. Me. Crazy.

Now I carry tissues around and will offer one to anyone who is sniffling.

Yes!! I hate the sound of people chewing gum. I actively dislike people who chew gum around me. It's banned from my house. In college, when my roommates would chew gum I would have to leave the room because I knew otherwise I'd start being really mean to them.

Sniffing is the worst - I'm with OP. My mom always made sure we had Kleenex on hand (or in pockets, backpacks, etc.) so if we had a runny nose we would blow it.

So, so gross when people suck that snot in and you can hear them swallowing it. *Shudder*

Thank god I found this. I've had this problem ever since I can remember. Once I was in a concert, hundreds of seats. I offered the two vacant seats on my left to strangers. Out of a cathedral full of seats, the only sniffler sat next to me. I kept muttering furiously under my breath about how rude it was, and stared him full in the face more than once in the hope that he'd stop. He just sniffled more enthusiastically than ever before. I once did not finish an exam on time, breaking two pens in the process, due to a sniffler. If you have a runny nose, then fucking blow it. You ill-mannered idiot. I cannot stand them.

Doesn't bother me. Heavy breathers or loud chewers and lip smackers bother me much more.

Oh my goodness PP^^^. You need to turn the mirror on yourself and realize that you're the one with the problem. This is such a strange, over the top reaction.
