"The Supreme Court, in its ruling in Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization, overruled Roe v. Wade and nearly 50 years of constitutional precedent and held that there is no constitutional right to abortion." So the right to LIFE, liberty and the pursuit of happiness trumps your request.

Does the life of the mother count at all?
How close to death must she be before you think abortion is acceptable? What is your threshold for fever, blood loss, stage of cancer diagnosis where it suddenly becomes ok to abort?
Have you seriously never known anyone in your life who has suffered an ectopic, a missed miscarriage, PPROM before viability, placental abruption, fatal fetal diagnosis, etc?
Are you comfortable with saying that child victims of rape should be forced to carry pregnancies to term? You realize there's no exception in this AZ law for that, right?

They seem to be comfortable with women dying and with 12 year olds giving birth to a rapist's baby.

It’s clear to me that all of these forced birthers think a woman’s life is not that important and that she can’t think on her own….you know, how it was back in 19th century.

As a woman, why should I accept that kind of thinking? What don’t they get?

To many conservatives voting for this, control and spite are worth more to them than their own rights. Many also believe God will protect them but won't protect "the wicked." They have to find out the hard way yet again.

I hope we don’t have to find out.

I detest Kari Lake but think it's wrong that the AZ said she won't abide by the law once its in effect. We are either a country of laws, or we are not.

I do find it interesting how Lake still backs this. It's political suicide. Are MAGA so in their own echo chamber that they don't see these bans will make them lose?

They all tried to back away from the law once it was done and now they’re back to it. I do not understand those crazy people.

They lose their Evangelical base if they don't support the law. They lose elections if they do support the law.

Yep, they're caught in a trap of their own making. SCOTUS really blew it for them. Abortion was never supposed to be overturned. It was supposed to remain a carrot to get the vote out.

Yep. I never thought they’d overturn it for that reason and I think they surprised themselves too.

They put five crazy, lying true believers on the court. That was their biggest mistake. They won the battle… but the war rages on and the end is very much not pre-determined.

It's the same thing with illegal immigration. The GOP doesn't really want to solve it. They need these immigrants to staff their farms, construction, etc. They want to keep using it as a GOTV driver.
