DeSantis and FL moving to hammer Disney

Anonymous
DeSantis looking to get rid of Disney's special tax district privileges in response to Disney for being 'woke'. The measure only has to pass the house, which is Republican, so it looks like there is a very high probability of passing.

Go woke and go broke is going to be DeSantis' presidential rallying cry.

Will the local taxpayers assume a burden if this goes down? Seems like all those FL statewide GOPers want to impose higher taxes on the middle class.

Oh it’s just like Russia. One of DeSantis lackeys will buy what’s left of Disney and hire back 1/2 employees at 1/4 their wages. No gays, black or Jews need apply. Republicans hate free markets.

Yes, the burden is one billion dollars, around $2200 for each and every Orange and Osceola County resident.

This isn't going to happen. It's a lot of saber rattling.

The awesome move would be if Disney called his bluff. Many shorts would be soiled that day I tell you.

Plus the surrounding localities would have to pick up the of cost of first responder services, utility infrastructure, etc. that Disney currently pays for.

Exactly! Why not?

This is obviously retaliation for Disney’s protected political speech. The courts won’t let it move forward.

I think DeSantis is gross - but I like him normalizing going after companies who don't align with your political view.

Dems spend way too much time catering to the corporate crowd. We can definitely benefit from what DeSantis is doing and won't be blamed for starting it.

The GOP was founded by the corporate crowd. It's existence is for the corporate crowd.

So we have a GOP governor trying to cancel a private company.

What happened to capitalism? What happened to "freedom?"

Total hypocrisy

Everything the GOP does is to cater to corporatism. You have been totally brainwashed.
