They could tie it to tourism of DC but have the resorts near the beach. Hogan is moderate Republican so Would probably still offer many tax breaks but without the 1950s social agenda. Would be a big win for jobs and tourism in and plus blow a DMV raspberry to de Santis’ blow hard, right wing antics. |
My guess is it is more in retaliation for their completely hypocritical position. If they had this stance for years and were consistent with their their support for the gay community, my guess is this wouldn't be happening. However, they continue to do business with and even expand business into countries that have banned gay marriage and even condemn gays to death, so they are really just going after DeSantis, who in turn is fighting back. |
The first PP and the second PP's interaction reveal the cognitive dissonance among Democrats. This is what happens when you have no rational basis for your ideology, just "feelings". |
Actually… What can be seen in this exchange is that many voting Republicans don’t understand that theirs is the party of big business (voting Republicans don’t understand much of anything anyway, so this tracks). Further, they spend a lot of time complaining about “cancel culture;” what else could you call DeSantis’s move but “cancel culture”? It’s just a petty man trying to force someone to adopt his view, which tracks with his fascist viewpoint. Third, you went on to project the problems of cognitive dissonance in Republicans onto Democrats. Nicely done, pp! You have no idea what your party is, but you are a fervent cult member. |
Disney is a business. It is going to end up losing a lot of money because of its foray into politics. People are selling their stock and cancelling their trips! |
The matter is not complicated. DeSantis is not an idiot - you may not like him but he is not an idiot. DeSantis would not have gone after Disney if they just did the standard corporate dance about LGTBQIA2S+ and threw in some references to equity and stakeholder capitalism. Disney vowed to work towards repealing the Parental Rights in Education law, which has broad popular support among FL residents. If Disney wants to dabble in politics, well, DeSantis is showing them what that means. |
And their Disney plus subscriptions.

Who wants money from vile POSs? |
If I owned any Disney stock, I would have sold it because I think the company will suffer a financial loss. |
oh, this is rich. The R party has embraced conspiracy theorist, Q followers as political leaders; continue to hold on to the stop the steal rallies two years later, and still want their Insurrectionist in chief to run in 2024; exercise cancel culture on private businesses using their political clout, even as they blast private businesses for exercising their own cancel culture using their social clout. But sure, it's the Dems who seem to be irrational ones . |
The surrounding localities would receive the increased tax revenue that Disney would have to pay for losing the many tax breaks they currently receive. |
No Disney already pays taxes. |
Yup..+100000 Disney quiet on China's absuses and keeps quiet to appease their CCP overlords in China, meanwhile takes a political stance when and where it thinks it is opportune in the US. It is hypocrisy. Either you stand for something or you don't. Disney needs to apply the same rhetoric to China. |
Both of these x100. People who act do dumbfounded are either willfully ignorant or idiots. |
So you are making an equivalence of the two Democratic PPs with Republican conspiracy theorists and Q followers? |
