Open Studio: Nature-Inspired Holiday Decorations

As the days get shorter and colder, take time to appreciate the beauty of nature in Asian art. On Saturday, December 1, 12–4 pm, drop by for a family-friendly open studio. Take a tour (12:30 and 2:30 pm) to explore how artists depict the natural world in our permanent collections. Then, return to the studio to make your own nature-inspired holiday decorations. All ages welcome with adult companions.

During Loy Krathong, people send candlelit flowers (krathong) carrying wishes down rivers and release floating lanterns into the sky, creating a magical scene. Parents and other supportive adults interested in learning about Scouts BSA Troop 248 for Girls are invited to meet the Scoutmasters, Troop Committee Members and involved Parish staff at All Souls Episcopal Church, Washington, DC. All Souls is establishing the Troop, which will be an all-girl implementation of the program currently known as Boy Scouting.
