Parents and other supportive adults interested in learning about Scouts BSA Troop 248 for Girls are invited to meet the Scoutmasters, Troop Committee Members and involved Parish staff at All Souls Episcopal Church, Washington, DC. All Souls is establishing the Troop, which will be an all-girl implementation of the program currently known as Boy Scouting. Troop 248 will serve all of Washington, DC and will have its first meeting on February 2. No experience in Scouting is required to become involved. Everyone is invited to join the BSA.
We have about 20 families of girls interested so far and several volunteers including some with years of Scouting experience. We continue to gather additional adult volunteers and encourage you to consider contributing your talents. We believe we will offer a challenging and affordable Scouting program to our girls which will be of highest quality.
Troop 248 will meet twice a month on Saturday mornings at All Souls, engage in rigorous monthly outdoor adventure activities, attend summer camp together and will not engage in any product sales (no cookies, popcorn, etc.). Be a part of this effort to help a generation of future Eagle Scouts became young women leaders of distinction.
All Souls Episcopal Church is located at 2300 Cathedral Avenue, just off Connecticut Avenue between the Woodley Park Metro Station and the National Zoo. Visit our web site for more information: www.ScoutsBsaDcGirls.org.
